|The 1st year anniversary of our new house is today....
« on: March 01, 2008, 11:16:58 AM »
And here I lay flat out due to a severe sinus infection that I'm drugged up the wazzo for giving me all kinds of wild ideas of what I want to transform this year :) Thank-goodness |I have my laptop since my kids have gone to stay at my parents and my DH is in Vegas at the NASCAR weekend there with his buddy who winters in AZ.

Anyone want to play scrabble on facebook?...lol

Sounds like a hubby to run off in your hour of need, you should keep notes of some of your ideas. Some might be keepers, of course some might be just the drugs talking. :P Hope you get well soon.

most of what I've done to the hosue so far has just been storage and trying to find good places to put all my furniture.  I did install a shed (along with its floating floor) by myself last fall but that's it for the backyard. I'm trying to decide if I wan tot build a pernament gazebo in the back corner too. last summer we had one of those easy ups that was 10X10 but every time we went camping we had to take it down. We definately need something for shade though that won't blow away.

Hey Krista:

Congratulations on the year aniversery...now do you have everything unpacked?  Each move I have made there are always a half dozen boxes I never have unpacted and they kept growing until the last move we donated them to Good Will!!

actually I had the last 3 boxes unpacked about a month ago :D And I even got rid of some more stuff too :) The only thing I still have that I don't need is some of the twins stuff which is going to either my sister or dh's cousin who just had twin boys herself. then I'll have an empty storage shower :D

An empty storage shower? Sounds like every home needs one of those.
Can't believe it's been a year already though. Happy anniversary.

Cheers,
Mike

congrats....nice feeling, isn't it?  I still have boxes that need to be sorted through and it's been over 4 years for me!

bummer about the sinus issue.  I've had a sinus infection for about two years that I didn't know about, but have been going through treatment for the past month.  ENT specialist next week...
I'm broke and can't afford to pay attention, so you might have to lend me an ear.

sorry about your sinus issues Blind 'Too. hopefully the treatments work quickly for you.

MikeW, one thing this house is missing is storage space... so since we really don't need 3 showers, we converted the third one into a storage room :) Put a nice shower curtain up so you can see all the extra stuff in there :)

Congrats, sorry your sick though.  You are doing very good, we hit our 20yr mark last fall......And I still Have stuff  I never finished unpacking.....mostly wall hanging/knick knack stuff I didn't know where to put.  Now that we are redoing rooms as the kids have all moved on, I'm begining to get rid of stuff.  Doing the same at my MIL's who has been in her house 35yrs and we are trying to get her in to assisted living, she is 91 and boy does she have the stuff!!!

Hi Krista, hope your feeling better. I have been going threw my house like crazey. It's amazing what one keeps over a 27 year period, even tho I have only been here 12 years I brought everything with me. :D Any stuff ya want to get rid of bring it down for my estate sale in May and make some spending money! Like I said before there is lots of room for the twins to play.
I'm just happier outside!

thanks guys :) it feels good to be totally unpacked. and \i did have a goal of it by the 1st anniversary. although, i had everything  but 3 boxes unpacked within the first 4 weeks. i have a lot of stuff but its mostly stuff that we use or want to see on at least a weekly basis for the most part.

Debbie, that would be fun if i had anything left to sell... and was free in May. but at this point our only free weekend in may is may 31/june 1st....lol. got everything from my godparents 50gth wedding anniversary party to 2 camping weekends already booked to singing in a provincial choral festival in Vancouver the second weekend. crazy schedule and lets not even talk about |April when I have no free weeekends between concerts, another choir trip, and rehersals for the provincial thing the others.

its a good thing i'm already unpacked and have a 'week' not just a weekend to do the veggie garden....lol
