How Many of Us Have INDOOR Fishies?

In light of comments on the "Oranda" thread, I thought I'd see how many of us keep fish outside, and indoors as well.

Me, outdoors I have the koi pond, and the turtle pond with a few cull fish.

Indoors, I have bettas - Siamese fighting fish.  Sixteen of them, all in seperate 1-gallon-or-larger bowls.  Once the weather warms up enough, I'll move some of them to various ponds and tubs.  And HOPEFULLY they won't go 'round reproducing again - that's how I ended up with 16 of the buggers in the first place!   

But I love 'em.    Such colorful fish, full of personality.

Oh, plus 15 yr-old cat, and a nearly 3-yr old hamster, Boris, who is doing fine following last autumn's rear leg amputation.   My $360, 3-legged hamster.

the only fish I keep in the house is a beta named Hector....but, I have 3 tanks in our small gh that I keep up and going year round---I have my for sale koi and goldies in them--but, they also double as a hospital tank when needed....

I had indoor tanks for years. A 65 gal and a 30 gal. Then moved to a smaller place and sold them. I used the 30 gal one just for my mouth breaders. Then I got a little 4 gal and just had my lion head in it tell he up and died. I gave the tank to my DGD. I sort of miss them. I used to watch them in the evening more than TV.

I have a 100 gal aquarium with assorted tropicals, a 75 gal aquarium with freshwater moray eels (g.tiles), a 20 gal with birchirs and a 900 gal pond with assorted fantails....

I am down to ONE aquarium a 55gal, that has assorted tropicals and cichlids, finally got it cleaned this weekend, I've been very laxed lately.... to busy with other stuff.

I have 6 aquariums set up in the basement and a 100 gallon pond. I winter over Black and white Mollies, which have had spotted Mollies. LOL and I have some Gambusi in the aquariums too.

I'm renovating this old house down here in the Yucatan and it will have a long (around 15') and narrow pond in the hallway.  I've got a skimmer for the end, will put a pump in that and send the water up to 3 planter boxes on the wall behind it.  They will function as a bog filter and we'll see if I need any more.  It will be open to the sky but way high, up 2 stories, so there will be sunlight but not much direct light.  I want brightly colored schooling fish in it.  The fish will only be seen from the top not the side like in most aquariums.  The wall behind it will be rock and I'm thinking I can wire orchids to it and they should do well.  Light, warm and humid.  We'll see.

I have a 10 gallon planted aquarium with a betta and a 75 gallon planted aquarium with a calico oranda and calico ranchu in it at the moment.

I have a 29 Gallon salt water aquarium with 2 clowns, some shrimp, starfish and lots of crabs.

I have a 55 gallon tank indoors which is home to a red cap Oranda and a black moor.
I'm down to one betta named Zorro.
There are two Koi outside in the one stock tank.

I have my lilie tank in the gh with a few fantail goldies.  I tried to put a betta in there and it kept jumping out.  Brought him inside and he's in a 45 gallon tall all to himself, very happy.  I just wanted something in there for mosquitos during the fall.  All the fantails are very happy.

Then I have a 55 gallon set up in my bedroom with Shubunkins, from late last years spawn.  They were so cute, I brought about 6 inside to watch grow through the winter.

Here is what I have had set up though in the past:

55 gallon with Chiclids
33 gallon long under the 55 gallon with metal stand with baby chiclids in it.
Another 55 gallon w/wood cabinet that had tin foils and such in it.
45 gallon tall with various fish
40 gallon tank in daughters room with whatever in it...(it was taken out in dec, the filter clogged and the water ran out and to the carpet and to the padding.  Had to rip out the carpet.  Have yet to set it back up.  I'm going to have to replace the tank, because dh left it on the deck next to the house and the water froze and busted the bottom....arrrrg! 

I have several 20 gallons, then I have a little long tank with deviders for a breeder tank.  I also have many 10 gallons that are empty.

Oh, almost forgot the hexogon tank we had for awhile.  It was my mil's, it had a leak and we fixed it and kept a couple of orandas in it.  It was a 45 gallon.  We ran out of room, and gave it back to her.

Not so much work when you consider that I also have......

2 female Great Danes
2 male pitbull pups
3 cats
3 rabbits
4 gerbils
and
9 parakeets (or as somepeople call them budgies)

And no the house isn't very big, and it only seems crowded when the dogs try to beat me out the backdoor

I guess you can call me just alittle crazy............. or not.  {:-P;;

I have a 40 gallon tank in the living room with assorted tropical fish. Have had a tank continuously since I was about six except when I first moved back to Oregon, it took several years to get a stable place to live to set one up. Brought one with me though from Arizona.

Oh, I have a few fish inside {:-P;;Lets see in the garage I have 2- 300 gal. tanks, 1 with baby calico wakins and koi and the other with Calico wakins. 4-100 tanks 2 for baby wakins 1 for the blue/black wakins and 1 for live food, dalphina. And 1 -200 gal preformed pond with red eared sliders turtles. There are also 2 empty 55gal/29gal aqu. to set up in the garage. And in the living room a 55 gal aqu. with Spot and another smaller one of her baby shubunkins. And I have a trio of black moscow guppies coming friday. Also have 4 cats, 1 rabbit, 1 hamster, 2 grown DD 1 grown DS & working on the 2nd DH and various squrriels that are trying to break in this winter to join us nuts where it is nice & warm.

10 gallon with tropicals.  2.5 gallon with a betta and a few guppies.  35 gallon with guppies...oh and Tommy Turtle to keep the population under control 

Inside the barn, outside the house (or something like that) have a 70 gallon with a Oranda, 2 Ryunkins, a ranchu, 4 wakins, 1 long fin and a little tamasaba.  That tank is overstocked..luckly some of them are still small and there is a LOT of filtration.  All the wakins and longfin will be going to the greenhouse tanks this week.

I have a 30 gallon aquarium with misquetio (sp) fish in it. I got them last fall from my
cousin Mike . He had bought some last Summer for his pond's .They're worse than guppies... .
 I wanted to overwinter some over for him .

I bring my fish inside for the winter. I've got them in a 100 stock tank on the back porch. (inside) I call it my plant room. tons of plants and light. (southwest side and all glass)
I've also got a big aquarium with tropicals and the baby goldfish.

And I really couldn't forget Charlie

I just have one parrot fish in a very large 'aquarium'....

Hay Steve, How is he? I put an add in some local papers with in 120 miles of me to find a cancoon cat and everyone acted like I had made up a new breed of my own So I guess I don't need one?

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel Debbie, if you put an add in for a Cancoon cat------you did make up your own breed.

Charlie is a maine coon mutt------don't tell him though

If he doesn't get his fresh bluegill every day----he whines like a baby

The pictures I have of the house right now are full of rubble and construction debris and concrete block.  It's moving along well though, the second story in on and the electrical is going in.  There's a lot more to do so I still don't know when it will be ready for me to move in.  They say maybe 4 months, I kind of doubt that but they are ahead of schedule so far.   Once they start in the area with the ponds (there will also be one outside) I'll post some more pictures.
