Okay, test results are in. Good news! I had a nasty infection 4 or 5 years ago that needed a Pericardial Effusion. Even though it went well it did leave some scarring. In order to prevent fribulation from occurring I will need to take a pill. In order to determine which is best for me, I need to be monitored at the hospital. So, tomorrow, Wednesday March 18, 2007 I go in for 24 hours. I will sleep with a monitor and they will determine what is safe for me.
It will be a long boring time, but let’s get it done! The Dr. says I will be back to my old self. I can roam the halls and do what I want, just need to be monitored. I had never been hospitalized until 4 years ago. I am getting to know the ropes!

Jerry, that is great news you must be exstatic..... a pill a day is nothing. Relax and sleep well tommorrow.

Have a relaxing stay and hopefully the monitoring will give you and your doctors a good understanding of what is going on.

I will be free to do what I want, need PJs for sleep. Then The Dr will be in and send me home.
Funny, I don't wear PJs but bought these for an AARP Commercial.
Amything beats those crazy hospital gowns. I do feel better just knowing!

Jerry, that is great news. A retired co-worker of mine has recently been given the same diagnosis. They gave him 9 options, which he didn't go in to, but he chose a pulmonary vein ablation (PVA) because they said his veins had become electrically conductive and was causing premature beating of one of the chambers in the heart causing puddling in the ventricle. The PVA is basically scraping/scarring of the veins to reduce their electrical conductance.

Technical I know, but a pill sounds sooooo much better!. Glad to here your going to be around for awhile… else we wouldn’t have this wonderful forum.

You be a good patient, no chasing the nurses, wear your PJ's at all times and come back to us whole and healthy. We need you ya know (and so do your turtles) and am praying for a fast, safe stay in the hospital for you!

I'm glad to hear you're going to be just fine. If you have a laptop to bring to the hospital you can surf in bed or study lines to your next gig.

Just an overnighter to see which med is best for me. They must monitor!
Oh yeah, he did say I have NO hardening of the arteries at all!Funny just knowing I feel good already. I check my pulse and it is wierd though.

I'm soooooo glad your test results came out so well.

After my DH ("the old guy") had that Thallium test, we were told he had to have a quadruple bypass and a carotid endarterectomy ("the surgical stripping of a fat-encrusted, thickened arterial lining so as to open or widen the artery for improved blood circulation").

I was just wondering about your test results today. See, we do love you!

Great news Jerry.

Somehow, I can imagine you having a good time in the hospital and brightening the nurse's day.

Hubby takes two pills a day for his atrial fib, and they are both on the $4 list.

Jerry, just not knowing can make me imagine what might be wrong and then it seems like what I'm noticing is happening much more. I'm glad your problem will repond to such a simple fix. What a relief!! Now just remember not to chase the nurses. They can't fix a broken leg with a pill.

I got lucky!

A pill will do the trick, even though my singing makes people cringe, I now have rhythm!
It took 29 hours of anxiety to find out. The first med did not work, the second one did! A huge relief
Skip the rest of this if it bores you. The above is all that matters.

THERE WERE no BEDS available when we arrived at 10:15 AM Wednesday. The plan of being free to read listen to CDs was now kaput!
After a long wait they put me in the ER One Can’t have the easy monitor in the ER! So I was hooked up to a myriad of gadgets including an IV. It was 11:00 pm when I got a room. Hell, it was 5:00 pm until I realized I had not had any liquid!
A nurse, seeing the first pill only got me into rhythm temporarily started talking Pacemaker! Scared the crap out of me.
The second pill did work. By that time I had a room and a nice efficient nurse.
Dr Burnam came in at noon and said, “We did it.” I was released at 2:00 Pm today, Thursday. I was a very happy guy!
I can go on and on, but as Doctor said, “We got it done!”

yes I know I look like crap, up all night and when i did doze I was wakend to the question..."Are you sleeping ok?"

As you see Jonalynn, my nurse is a beauty. Wife took the photo as I was being released.

Wonderful news my friend! Great picture too! Not happy to hear about all the crap at the hospital--you'd think such a high-class place that is responsible for giving excellent health care would be able to schedule just a bit better than that
