There is a group discount offer on lotus, lilies, and marginal plants. Pretty good prices and the plants were good as well

This is probably a stupid question, but was does "2008 bare root" mean? The lilies I have purchased in the past from our local Van ness water gardens either came in the pot, or if I ordered online came as an established plant (large leafs and long stems), does the bare root mean that it comes as a "tuber"? Sorry for the newbe questions!

Bare root is exactly that, the plants/roots are buck naked... tubers wrapped in moist newspaper usually, ready for a pot with soil. Can't speak for the marginals as I've never bought them mail order.

Buyer beware: you get what you pay for. Yes, this is a great opportunity, the prices are unheard of, and the people there are very nice! Just know that it is likely you will get the wrong variety. And maybe that's not a big deal, especially if you're a beginner and trying to fill up a new pond on a budget.

I purchased a Baby Doll lotus in the group order here two years ago. It ended up being Chawan Basu. Jessie was super nice and offered to send the right one at no charge the next year (last year). Guess what Baby Doll #2 ended up being? That's right, Chawan Basu. Lucky for me I was at least sent another small lotus. See, I grow in containers and there is no way one of the big varieties would even have a chance. I *almost* ordered a Baby Doll again this year, but have decided to pass. It's tempting, but with my limited space and conditions, I can't waste time on the wrong thing.

Sorry, I just felt it necessary to share my experience.

Jessica, I agree they were VERY unorganized but hopefully they know the process now.

Nice people, YES
 BUT alot of mistakes...

I THINK that people had better luck with them last year.
