Took some new pics of the new kids

They are still not very clear, but better.  I need to take the net off, but wanted to make sure they were settled in first.  You can see a couple of mine in a few of the pics, they look like minnows next to them.

Couple more, i'll be so glad to get the net off and my new pump.  Need some warmer temps also, burrrr.
These were taken from my deck.  Hurry up spring, get here.  I believe I have picked out a couple favorites, almost afraid to say it.  I know, the ones I like best.

One of them I didn't get a pic of, then there is the one in the top of the pics in the first shot, then in the last one, the 3rd pic shows his back half and the spots.  His fins just flow when he swims, and I think it looks like someone got him with a paint gun.  Spots of orange and black, clean spots.

OMG Kim, what beautiful fish o(:-) You just helped me make up my mind what I'm going to buy from Lawanna. It's going to be the butterfly with color. Not just one solid color but mixed colors. Are ya looking Lawanna? Can't wait to see the pix of what she will have to offer. I better PM her right now. @O@

That black and white one is wonderful, and so is the orange one with the black speckles.  I've always wanted a red / orange one with good, big, black speckles.

You sure did get some very beautiful fish! They are so colourful. I hope you get your new pump soon and we are waiting for spring here too. Still very cold, below freezing at nights, here.

Lawanna, she must have had some fin damage some time in her life.  One of her fins is alot smaller than the other.  Kind of like Nemo.  It looks good just small.

Tink they are the same....I used to call them butterfly koi all the time...untill I got scolded by the koi kichi...So most of the time when I'm on forum I call them longfins....when I'm at home they are butterfly koi  ::).....

Kim--may have been a birth defect...when culling you run into alot of strange things....found a platinum longfin that had wintered over in the pond that its body was litterally an S shape...it looked fine from a top but, once you looked at it from the side---looked pittyful....I went to hollor for the cats...but, hubby said--well if its made it this long its and its eating just find it a good home  ::)...Now I know why I do my culling while he is gone  ::)....

Landey- doesn't really depend on the age or the length...Koi's maturity the best I understand it comes by a certain number warm of days ....sounds really silly but, apparently the warmer the water is kept all year long the faster they become sexually mature....I usually say around 3 years...but, have heard of it happening sooner....

Called Butterfly if they were hatched in the US. Long fin to the Japanese who disliked them until recently. Very hardy because of the new blood from Indoniasia. (spell?)

Very nice looking fish Kim, and it sure beats having to wait years to get them to that size.  Best of luck with them, wishes they stay healthy and virtualy stress free in their new home.

So far so good, NO flashing and they act like they've always been here.  Still gonna keep a close eye on them since I couldn't QT them.  I hated not QTing them but had no choice with the size of these guys.  I just have a good feeling about all of it.  Wish the weather would just cooperate.  My new pump will be here tomorrow.  Wanna get the filter cleaned out, so the water will get clear so I can get some decent pics.
