Everything Went Outside Today...
« on: April 12, 2008, 04:25:54 PM »
All the plants that were overwintering in the garage, lotus, waterlilies, bog planters, etc....went outside.
99% of the houseplants went outside too. (blooming orchids, seedlings and african violets are still inside.)
Cleaned out the pondsai, rinsed all filter media and degunked plumbing with power washer.
Moved some small koi and goldfish into the pondsai.
The patio umbrella went up. Screens went up. Screen doors too.
All this in the intermittent thunderstorms and sun showers. :raining:
My hair is doing the wild and funky spiral-spikey dance from drenching/drying out so many times. :D
Now hubby is out mowing the lawn... ::)  ... but it smells so good!  o(:-)

I do believe it is Spring! @O@

And now I have to take Jamie and her best friend to see Nims Island.  8)
(having a couple cups of coffee to keep me awake, and to wash down the Tylenol for my back!)

Tomorrow I divide and pack up some plants to share that I have been promising to pond friends. :)

Marilyn, if you're reading...you'll have a package there this week! (8:-)
Peace to all  ... Joyce

Now come Monday, I may be able to actually get some things out. @O@

LOL...  As I was reading your thread I started thinking about my sore back and also thinking, "Hey girl, slow down.  You're not 25 any longer.  There's tomorrow ya know...." ;D

Yay!  Nothing like Spring to invigorate you.   @O@

It's funny... every year I look forward to Spring and when it gets here I realize how hard it is.  Then I start looking forward to Fall.   :)

think I tried to bring mine out to early.. possible snow for us tomorrow.  have the monster lotus with tips / partial leaf open  sticking out of the water. Hope those dont get froze!

We seen Nim lastl weekend and liked it also.  Guess I must be kind of behind the times in movies but I thought Jodie foster looked so super old in that movie and not sure I ever thought of her as a comedian but she pulled off a few funnies :)

I'm glad you got everything back outside.  I'm gonna wait at least 2 maybe 3 more weeks just to be sure.  We had frost 3 times this week.

I'd like to see Nims Island when on CD

Thats just wrong  >:(- here we are in Oklahoma and I had to pull several things back in last night because we had a freeze (thank goodness I haven't had the time to pull out everything) .....and here you are pulling things out in NY.....again thats just wrong on soo many levels  ;D ;D.....NOW show me the pictures  O0.....I'm waiting soo patiently on the silk stockings to return(I know they will because there are tons of little white tuber looking things in the pots) but, the siberian pink cups are bloomin' their little heads off in the gh right now  @O@

I always overdue it on weekends. And I'm not 25 anymore either. ;D

Boy, I'll tell ya, I can't wait to take my plants outdoors, but it's gonna be quite a while I think.
Tonight it's supposed to get down to 24deg. The wood stove is going for sure.

Enjoy your spring weather,

Steve

Tinks, she looked about my age.  ;)   But she's in GREAT shape.  8)

Lawanna, that's the good thing about being surrounded by water...it buffers and creates a microclimate!
No frost in the forecast for weeks, so that brings us past the frost date already.
Aren't those SPCs adorable?  o(:-)

Believe me, you'll have enough Silk Stockings for a whore house when they start sprouting....they're weeds!  ;)

Steve, you'd better get ready for a huge box of Hostas!
I'll be mailing them out soon! :)
