Gary, yes, all these photos were taken tonight when I got home from work between 5-6pm.
The windflowers are a type of Anemone...Anemone blanda. Get about 3-4" high,
and spread by division and seeds.
They are an early spring bloomer and I planted them amongst the chartreuse Sedum Angelina because I love the color combo.
Remember, we're 100 miles east of Manhattan on the North Fork of LI, in a microclimate created by the bodies of water around us,
which include LI Sounds, Peconic Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean.

The Quince started blooming last weekend. 8) Prickly stuff though. :o

The May Apples, aka Podophyllum peltatum are about to bloom too. 8)
Peace to all  ... Joyce

Quince is a fruit that I was unfamiliar with until I moved to Mexico.   Here it is made into a very, very popular paste that is eaten with cheese, usually goat cheese.  It's really good on a lot of things though, tart apples and membrillo (quince in English) is one of my favorites.  When I first tried it, I had to look up membrillo and even then I didn't really know what quince was, I guess it doesn't grow in California or I never saw it.  Anyway, your blooms are just beautiful and it is interesting to me to finally see the plant.  They also make a liquor out of it that is heavenly, I've actually found it in the US in specialty shops.  I googled and found this recipe for membrillo, the paste.  http://www.elise.com/recipes/archives/006144membrillo_quince_paste.php

Your plants always look so healthy and your photographs are exceptional!

I especially like your Quince.  When I lived in NJ I had some Flowering Quince (no fruit).  It was a good plant to survive deer damage.  Those thorns will really get you!  Makes for a great bonsai too.
