Lotus Pond Koi
« on: April 25, 2008, 01:01:10 PM »
Starring 'The Phantom', a koi LIjohn gave us because he was disfigured from mouth rot.

Some hosed-faced koi body slamming Phantom for food...

This is Silver, a Lady koi...

This is another one from LIjohn, little scrape on its side, but probably from spawning

I always love seeing your lotus pond in full bloom. Are you going to have one at your new house?

That's a great pond.  I love looking at your koi.  Can't wait to see the lotus blooming!

Amazing what they can live through.  I have one that has no eye.. just a open socket from the problem I had last year.. he healed fine and is huge and still has one eye he can see with.. is the first to find the feed.

Thanks everyone.  8)

Nope, no lotus in the pond at home, just containers of lotus dropped into the gardens here and there,
and probably a few near the pond next to the waterfalls.
And of course at least one bowl lotus on the deck.

S, when we first got Phantom (Jamie named him) he was a deep metallic brown and deep metallic gunmetal gray.
Now that he is getting all sorts of food and nutrients in the mud bottom lotus pond...his has colored up nicely! :)
