Won't be long and you'll have toadpoles. LOL  @O@ Have you recently heard loud high pitched screeching /singing at night coming from the pond? If so that was the song of the amorous toad trying to entice a female. The eggs hatch and morph into their legs in about 6 weeks. As soon as they get legs and drop their tail, they crawl out of the pond almost immediately, never to be seen until next spring when it begins all over again.

We still have the cover on the pool. There are thousands of toadpoles on it right now. Some springs, the baby toads are like bugs around in the grass, there's so many.

Yup, that's what toad eggs look like.  You'll have tiny little tads swimming every where.  It doesn't take long for them to morph and be on their way.

Ponds are like patato chips, ya just can't have one.

Anyone here use something called a spawn sponge? When the Koi eggs attach to it you can fold it inside out and put it in a safe water area so the eggs can hatch?

Here is a picture of just a tiny few toadpoles that are on the pool cover. Sure hope they get all growed up enough to escape before DH decided to open the pool.

I happened to mention to a friend of my DW that I wanted a few tad's in my pond, so she sent her kids out into a swamp near their house and they showed up at my place with2 HUGE jars, stuffed right full of eggs! hahaha...there literally must be a million eggs altogether.

I wanted a few, but that was a little overkill! I thanked them, gave them a buck each, and sent them on their way. I'll put a few in the pond, but throw most of them away somewhere.  {:-P;;
