The question is, how do we prepare for the day it quits?  Waiting a week for a replacement does not sound like a good idea.  Is having a second one ready for the day it dies the smart thing to do?
Or is there a way to use an "el cheapo" temporarily?

Good answer Louis.  I will pose the question to gene at Koi village. He was my supplier.

Gene responded and said, "You can't beat the one you have!"  Sounds like a back up is in order.

What is a sequence pump? Is your system enclosed?

Jerry,

If you want a real cheap backup to be used temporarily in the event your sequence needs an overhaul, one of these could get you by for a while.  At $30, how could you go wrong?

330 GPH? Would that be enough. I don't get it. If is a 1/2 horse and only pushes 330GPH. My new submersible 1/4 horse pushes 2900. What am I missing here?

Jerry a cheap backup is a must!  I bought a couple from Bonnie not too long ago and used one just in time.  O0

it is above ground Esther.  I am not sure I know what you mean by enclosed.
Johns , sounds like a plan!

OK above ground would have to be a sealed (enclosed) system like a pool would have if it sits above ground.

I have two pumps operating on my pond at all times.  If one goes, the other will at least keep water and air moving.

It would be important that they be on seperate electrical circuits, in case of a power problem with one circuit (like if water got in one, and the GFI tripped.)

On second thought!  Instead of buying the cheapie, and then ordering a Sequence, I will just buy the Sequence NOW and save $30.00
So it will sit for a few years!  heck if it sits forever that's ok too.
Julles, why 2 pumps?
