Not fair.. you have several different kind and I don't.. but I am working on that problem.  I have been afraid roses would be to diffcult for me but I am in the process of picking some roses for the garden.  Seems not quite right to not have any. Thanks for the pics they are all very pretty.

I just planted my Double Delight rose today! O0  Aren't they just gorgeous?  And they smell so good, too.  My next additions are going to be some english roses...next year.

Beautiful photos and beautiful roses!

I am planting some roses  this year too. I replaced my Tropicanna rose I had for over 20 years  that I lost last year. I have Planted St Patricks Day ( because my birthday is March 17th) and Sterling Silver. Hope they do well.

oh  my just me!! those are beautiful.  If thats a climbing mini I would hate to see a full size climber in your hands :)  I have zephrine D. climber and this will be her 3rd year.. she is covered with buds up over my roof line but its so chilly here they just dont seem to open.  I am so ready to see her finally in bloom.

I love your minis.. I have two one is yellow which produces like a son of a gun but fades out pretty quick.. the other a multi color that is struggling so I moved it this year.. wish I had resources for more of the minis.. I love them and so far have not had the diasease problems at all with them .  Are they more immune or something???

ANybody else with rose pictuers.. love to see them to.

Tink, thanks for the beautiful roses!

Gary (justme), I love that dark one.  O0

I used to be soooOOOOOO into roses.
I got tired of it, and 2 years ago, when I was going through chemo and not into fighting black spot and aphids,
I ripped 99% of my roses out. (we also had a terribly wet spring, I should have waited it out, but was in the mood to RIP)

Now I am moving in 3 weeks, and bringing TWO.
Yes, that's it. TWO roses:  8)
My Zephirine Drouhin (climber) and a climbing rose that someone here or at Koiphen traded with me.
I think it was DoubleS. Not sure. 'CRS' from that whole chemo stage.  ?)(?
But these 2 perform, no chemicals, no disease. And ZD is thornless. O0

The thing is with me, if the rose doesn't smell like a rose, it ain't a rose to me.  {-)
Peace to all  ... Joyce

My roses are all on there on roots. The last two english roses are David Austins. I think the name of the dark one is the Prince but it a low grower on grafted stock but as a cutting its 6 foot tall. I have not taken care of them in years they are in the middle of the back yard where my garden used to be before the pine trees grew so big.

This is my former Midnight Blues Rose, from 2005...

Loved that rose, gave it away when I ripped.... :o

And I made this bouquet for the receptionist at work. All from my gardens.

Beautiful roses everyone! I just love the minis. Thankfully, mine did not winter kill this year.

Did you know that this year marked the 100th anniversary of Mother's Day?
It was also the original custom to give your mother white carnations on Mother's Day. :)

Justme - Very nice roses!  Your last photo looks like a Austin rose I have called Ludlow Castle and it is fragrant.

Joyce - Midnight blue is soooo blue!  :D  Lucky receptionist.

Just beautiful Everyone!

I've got away from Roses because I don't like to spend alot of time caring for plants but last year did get a couple Knock Out Roses.

Are there any Roses that you feel don't require alot of care?

Loved looking at all the nice pics, but honestly I don't understand why I can't grow them here. When I was living in Va Tidewater area we were throwing them away we had so many. I faithfully dusted and sprayed for thrips and powdery mildew, but thought they were too much maintenance.

I purchased one Knockout rose thinking it would perform, yet every year it gets eaten by green inchworm-like things and never grows more than 8" tall. Anyone know what those worms might be?

I love them all!

Bonnie ... on that parks sale we all ordered from I got zephrine D. (spelling) its a c limbing rose and so far I have had to do nothing to it. This will be its 3rd year and its covered with blooms this year.  I also got the climbing dawn,  which is just now taking off good, the rose fairy, which is covered with roses all reason in masses,  and red meidland.  I have done nothing to any of them.  The rose meidland is not what I would call a pretty spicmen plant like a pretty pretty rose but for masses of color it is beautiful.  flowers for me all summer and alot prettier than pernnineals that dont bloom long.

Karen I got some knockouts and so far I love them.  I have seen them around my area planted in masses as hedges and they are stunning.  another that blooms all seaons here.. dont know about the worms though.. sure hope they are carefree for me!\

Great Pictures all!

I second the motion on the Zephirine Drouhin...as fas as I am concerned, it's the best performing, NO MAINTENANCE rose out there.
And virtually thornless. Listed as a climber, can be trained to a standard (tree) or large bush.
And the icing on the ake...it smells heavenly!  8)

Thanks Tink and Joyce I will try to find Zephirine Drouhin, like to hear that it's low maintenance and being thornless is definately a bonus!

well madamn if you wanted to try a smaller one which is what mine was when it came to me via parks.. almost a twig, I have 3 rooting at the base of the plant right now :)  I think in another month they could be dug.  And from what I understand when they are grown on their own root vs grafted, you get a much better hardier plant???? maybe someone that know more will chime in but I presume these rooted ones would have to be own root.. anyway...   Just lets me know :)

I don't know, Tinkster, I've heard that the growth that happens below the graft should be removed. It is hardier, but that's because it's not the same variety as the top part.

I'll have to look for Zephirine Drouhin. Sounds terrific, no maintence!
