I am being a Gentleman, but it's not easy. Since a gentle PM reminder this person has not been seen here. Gee all for $4.60 too.
Am I alone? Am I speaking up too soon?
PM me if you don't want to name names.

It really is the principal!

Sean and I don't want to see anyone here stiffed.

Never been stiffed, if anything they have sent a little more than necessary. Also when packages of plants arrive, often there are extra items in the box.

So sad when people take advantage of others like that. Hopefully the mean ones will walk around with a guilty, uncomfortable feeling for a good long time.

Yes, a few times, but not recently.
Generally, if you see me not being especially nice to someone on a forum...it's a good indicator on who stiffed me.
Or if I know they stiffed a friend of mine.
Word gets around on who stiffs who.

I agree Esther, I am only referring to postage. I usually include more too, as does folks who send me plants.
OK at what point do I name names? I won't embarass the individual cause they are apparantly gone. Can I be wrong? Sure, won't be the first time.

Just give a negative feedback on their American Ponders Trader rating. That should be sufficient. Members here are often reminded to check the trader feedback system.

) Our weather here has been soooooo wet and cold that nothing is growing and I haven't wanted to get wet.

Late is one thing, but stiffed on postage is another.
As I said, I sent a gentle PM reminder and never saw her here again. Either she is sick or having circumstances beyond her control. All that is understandable. A simple respose would suffice.

One person in here stiffed me for postage . They promised me they would send me a lotus tuber but I never got that either . So I put them on my "Naughty list" people I will not send or trade plant's with .

So, I guess we need to check feedback before dealing with someone.
Of course the feedback can be good. The gal I spoke of has only one negative and It was me who posted it!
So, the system isn't perfect. Maybe we should name names?????

It was my first bad experience. Believe me, it's not the money, just the idea of dumping us for 4.60

I know what you mean Jerry. Its ashame, and the should hang theirself in the Hall of Shame. I recently bought something on Ebay, the person says they mailed it out and I still don't have it. This has been 30 days, first time I've been jilted from there, but it happens.

4.60....That's a gallon of gas in some places. I've dealt with great people here. I usually go with what works and stick to those who've I've built a reputare. It would be nice to know who the stiffers are, but I can understand the nice guy effect.

When you said this person is gone, do you mean she closed her account with the forum? Or do you mean she no longer comes to it? If she is logging in as a guest, you can be sure she has read this thread and probably won't dare show her face again using that same username because she knows you know her and will call her out. So listing her name doesn't really accomplish anything but to get even with her, in your mind. All she has to do is register as somebody different and your posting her name won't have made any difference. Even the negative feedback makes no difference if they join under a different name. But on the other hand, if you did list her name, it does send a message to remind others on the forum that they should play fair.

I know how to see peoples negative or positive ratings but how can you see the notes people add to the feedback. I have posted notes when rating others service when I purchased stuff but I have yet to figure out how to see others feedback.

I believe Sean can track people when they register and know if it is the same person using another name. Unless they are using a different computer.

I think there are some people who don't participate in the pond forum, and "new" people who only participate in trades, who are not to be trusted (yet). I've had a lot of experience with "trade only" folks who send lousy starts, or nothing at all. I've also had experiences with trade-only people that have been wonderful. All of the people here have been great, but I did get stiffed from people at the old Water Gardening Magazine forum. Anyone remember "Snowbird"?

There are some trade-only peeps, who don't really participate in the chat aspect, that have been great trade partners (like Magoo). So who's to say? It's the internet in reality... live and learn. Mail fraud is real (and prosecutable), though. If you feel you were jipped, there is alway the 'mail fraud' approach...

OTOH, I almost want you to name names. The feedback system here allows anyone to give any kind of feedback, regardless of whether a transaction actually occurred or not.

Since my original post I have had a number of emails re: being stiffed. All small amounts.
What to do? Not sure, but the past track record is a good thing to review.

Now I have to try to remove the negative feedback I gave my "stiffee" since she did resolve it.

But something did come out of this post. LeeAnne asked me the above, and I did it and the next day had a full refund.

The ebay person said if I didn't get it to let her know, and I did. Then she quit responding, still says she mailed it. Maybe she did, maybe she didn't. This has been almost over a month now, but if the package some how shows up, I will pay her. Her feedback wasn't very good 12 months ago, but the 6 and current was fine. So I don't know. Oh well, I got my money back and I'm happy.
