Thanks for sharing that wonder. Do you suppose that is the small blueish dragonfly seen everywhere?

This is indeed very interesting and I have never seen green ones before, thank you for sharing. Wonder how do you attract them to your garden.

Dragonflies have always been around my ponds. On some days I'll see probably at least 30 of them. They like tall upright spikey plants to land on, so make sure you have something like that. Iris, tall lily buds, cattails, etc. I see them doubled up mating & the in the pond stage of bugs are creepy looking. Interesting to watch them dipping their tails in the pond to lay the eggs.

The big green ones are common in Texas. We also have a big magenta one, blues, and a little scarlet one.
Some day I'm going to learn their names - they have wonderful names, like "Darter", and "Raptor".
But its a study I haven't made, yet.

The Giant orange ones seem to be the most common in my back yard. Also see alot of the Blue ones. I love sitting out there watching them "DIP"!!!
I will have to keep an eye out for the emerging ones. There are alot of Nymphs in the stream area. When cleaning the stream the other day, my husband said look at all the Crickets-to him that it what they looked like!! So he got a lesson on Dragonflys!!

Great shots!
I believe the blue ones are Damsel flies(sp), which are slightly different than dragon flies. I had a few around last year, sure hope to this year!
