I'll take them all!  Beautiful blooms on hefty pads!  I have pools like yours but my lilies don't look as smidge as nice as yours.  I'm gonna have to show these pics to them!!!  :D

Thanks Annette,
Send your lilies to Ken Landon's Boot Camp.
A combination of his fertilizer and decent weather gave this to me.
Heck, I even had a night bloomer bloom this week.
Usually it is June or later before that happens.

By the way, a butterfly showed me something as he flitted around and then landed on the bud in the pic below.
To stay with the Crayon analogy, Little Kids have big crayons because they have not developed their dexterity yet.
This is the biggest crayon in my box at this time. LOL.
For those who don't grow them, this is a lotus bud.

Gorgeous!  I only have one tropical...an Albert Greenburg.  He is currently taking over an entire side of the pond with enormous pad growth...no buds yet.  I can't wait though o(:-)

Just for you, here are some orange and yellows...ie. Albert Greenburg.

Tim,

Very nice vibrant colors on the flowers and the pads!  You sure have a lot of kiddie pools.  I have three but only one filled right now.  I need to get me some more lillies!

Hey Kat... {:-P;;
That is me blowing some warm air your way.
I just hope it is not like the butterfly effect and causes a typhoon somewhere else.

Tonya, thanks for the compliment.
On the subject of kiddie pools, well that is not the half of it... heck that is not a 10th of it.
I just need to find a supplier of those cool big pools in Kat's back yard at a reasonable price.
On the flip side, my shallow pools allows the water to go up in temp much faster than the deeper permanent ones she has.

Yeah, Kat's big pools are great, I'd like to have some of them myself.  But, you are right on the water temp with the smaller ones.

Wow, Tim, I see lots of lilies I need.  As I live in Louisiana, I alway feel like the lilies I buy from you and Kat and there is another one I can not think of as my brain is asleep, will do well in my area. Can you give us a list of the name of the lilies in the kiddie pools?

Hey Myra,
Here is a link to the blooming size lilies thread on the forum.
http://www.americanponders.com/forum/index.php?topic=5619.msg57856#msg57856

The first shot in the second set of pics are the new ones for 08. I only have 1 of each.
I have many of the others in the above pictures available.

Thanks Tim .... it is finally warming up here  ;D  Wish I could find a decent place here that'd sell those stock tanks, too.  I am really disappointed with Rubbermaid brand stock tanks.  They seem to crack way too easy.  Found some dark green or dark grey tanks that are 20" high, a little over 300 gallons.  But I'd have to have them shipped in.  Shipping was as much for 2 as it was to buy just one tank.  Maybe I need to start buying Lottery Tickets  ;)

My stock tanks do take longer to warm up plus I have to put cinder blocks in them to raise the plants up higher.  The kiddie pools once your day & time temps stablize enough for tropicals probably help the tropicals grow much faster since they are shallow/warmer.  If I had a bunch of flat land like Tim I'd have a bunch of kiddie pools, too.

Hey, Tim

I was interested in a lily in the 3th pic, the one on the far left and in the 4th pic the lily high in the pic on the left.   ::)

Ruthie... be like "Nike"... Just do it.  LOL

Hi Myra,
Girl you have good taste but a bit on the expensive side.
That is N. Foxfire.
It is spectacular.
It also is rather stubborn at tubering.
I have had it a couple of years and so far only have about 4 plants.
I am using a few to try and force tuber production to expand what I have.

Sorry,

Tim

very beautiful pics...I missed them the first time around.

I have just received some tropicals from a friend and was showing DH pics online...telling him that they are vivid crayola colors... o(:-) 8-)~ o(:-)  If my tropicals survive this strange weather of 60* at night and 100* in the afternoons, I'll be shopping for some of those kiddie pools and more lilies.

I'd really love a wooden trough like Kat has with the veggie filter like TIM'S.

How deep sould the tops of the pots be under water?

The general consensus is 18 to 24 inches below the surface.
However you can get tons of blooms with just 4 to 6 inches as well.
The only downside is that when the water gets near 95 they do stress and flowers wilt with less of a water column above them.

Crayola's are my all time fav crayons, and you summed up your lilies to a T.  They are so vivid.
