« on: May 20, 2008, 03:18:53 PM »
This is a pillow I have made for this years County fairs, patriotic to The USA and The United Kingdom.  I didn't have a pattern just made it up as I went along.

Wow, very pretty Mrs_Bouquet!!!  O0 It should do quite well!! I love the county fairs!! I've entered some of my cross stitch pieces in our local county fair and have gotten some blue ribbons and a couple of red ribbons. But, of course, I have had patterns!! I could never do it without one!! Very impressive!!!

Keep us posted on how it does!!! Good luck!!!  O0

Very nice. It takes such patience and skill.

I come from a long line of women who sew, knit, embroider or crochet on both sides of my family and I did not get any of their genes.

Awesome pillow Linda! O0

I tried crochet once in home ec in highschool. Gave up.  :P
I'm with LeeAnne.
My mom can knit ANY sweater from Arans, to Greek Fisherman Sweaters, ANY pattern,
while watching TV, carrying on a conversation (often on the phone)
I just wear her masterpieces.
I have a whole wardrobe dedicated to her handknit sweaters and still wear a few she made me in high school.
Peace to all  ... Joyce

Very patriotic colors!   O0  Good luck in the fair!

I love to knit and crochet but never have the patience to finish a big project.  Blankets and throws are my specialty.  I also make pretty caps for chemo patients.

Joyce I've never finished a fisherman's sweater but it was fun trying.  Only wish I had one though.

That's a wonderful pillow!
I especially like the gold contrasting border and tassels - it takes the design from cute to elegant. Good luck, let us know if you get a ribbon!  @O@

Joyce - can I borrow your mom?

Thankyou very much for your kind remarks, I will keep you posted.  Being as I was brought in in early post war Britain, when clothing wss on rationing, I learned to knit sew and crochet at an early age by my grandmothers while they were recycling clothes, laundering the yarn and making it up into other garments.  Last year I did a Queen sized American Flag/bed spread, which was auctioned later for charity
I try to teach myself a new skill every year, 2 years ago it was Kumihimo last year it was Mobius knitting and i attach a picture of a cowl/scarf for this years fairs.
