My new fish (Pics)
« on: June 02, 2008, 09:50:03 AM »
I finally have a chance to take a couple of pictures of my new fish from my friend.  One of my favorite ones is an all white goldfish o( o(:-).  It is hard to catch a glimpse of her/him though. I think it is in the first pic below.  I gave a bunch away to other people because my tiny pond won't be able to hold them all.

Now if I can save the lotus and water lilies.  I will be getting my 100 gallon stock tank this afternoon.  I just don't know what I should do with them since they have such massive root systems.  But I think it is too late to divide them now though. :-\

Lovely goldies o(:-)  Lilies are pretty tough.  Last year I bought some tiny tubers for a dollar off the clearance rack at petsmart...bareroot in spagnum moss, at the end of the season, so you know they had been in that conditon for a long time.  But I saw a healthy leaf one each one.  This year they are both alive and well, sending up pads everywhere. Thanks.  I am hoping for the best on the lotus and lilies.  Since I'm so new to ponding, I feel like needing reassurance from some of you veteran ponders to say "hey, it is OK.  Go for it".  My DH on the other hand is more relax.  I am always the worry wart and him the easy going type guy.   {:-P;;

I have been checking the water chemistry now that I have the fish.  DH is now hooked on ponding too.  He now wants to go for a bigger pond just like I do.  I've to remind him to steady himself and not to go over board too fast.  LOL!  But I did tell him if he wants to dig a bigger pond, by all means, go for it.  I can always work on it while still have the fish in this tiny pond until the new pond is "perfect".

Bigger Pond!  @O@ @O@ @O@ GO GO GO!!

I see long tail goldies and walkins!  Very nice.  I think it should be safe to divide your lilies now.  Lotus you need to be very careful.  Follow the guides by the experts here!
