Steve,

I've been using it for years, it's wonderful, has lots of extra extensions and themes, tabbed browsing is great once you get used to it, all in all just a much better browser than IE ... and besides, it's not microsoft ...  @O@

And "Thunderbird"  is a dynamite mail program. If you need all the bells and whistles of Outlook (Calendar, Contacts, etc.) that's another story but if your using Outlook Express, it's worth changing to Thunderbird.

Thanks John.
Is it hard to get used to? and I do use Outlook, so how do you save your contacts?

Maybe I'll give it a try.

There is extensive address book/contacts. What Thunderbird doesn't have is the appointment book/calendar that Outlook has. I don't have a use for that so I don't miss it. Both programs are quite intuitive, the only thing that threw me for a little while was "tabbed browsing" as it was something I had never even seen before I started using Firefox and Thunderbird.

That sounds fine to me. I don't use the appt. book and the calandar at home either so that would be OK not to have I guess. I have tabbed browsing on a program at work and it is a bit hard to get used to, but not that bad. the thing about tabbed browsing is that you don't have to use it if you don't want to. But once you start, it's nice.
Maybe I'll give it a go tonight.

thanks,
Steve

I've been using it for years now too, I love it although I do not use the tabbed browsing. I don't like it.

I still use Outlook Express for email.

I never liked IE, I started using the Inet with Netscape because my ISP supported it but not IE. Firefox is the best of the three IMHO.

Actually it's more vunerable then IE. The holes in it haven't been repaired. I would NEVER use it. Hackers can access your personal data thru the holes in it. Stay away from Firefox!

I use both. I also use Netscape every once in a while when I am evaluating web pages I have created. Not all browsers are created equally. Once I got used to Firefox, I found I prefered it and now I use it 95% of the time. IE still has some functionality I prefer. I wish I could take all the things I like from the various browsers and develope one that conforms to my wants and needs.

Cheers,
Sean

I have been using ie since forever so to change seems to be a big deal to me. I appreciate all of your input. This Sun, I'm going to one of my son's house who is an electrical engineer and does computer stuff on the side and is going to help me get rid of some spyware and download some other stuff. He also uses firefox and is going to get it set up for me.

I have been using Firefox for years. On the rare occasion I have to use IE, I find it terribly slow compared to Firefox, and my computer is immediately cluttered with spyware.

It’s a really easy transition to make Steve, it even takes all your ‘Favourites’ and puts them into a ‘Bookmarks’ category.

I’ve never been hacked either.. {:-P;;

I just noticed this: In the past, when I would get timed out on AP, I would get a notice saying that it was timed out. Now that I have firefox, I just got a notice saying that the server at AP got me timed out.
I was wondering why it was slow this am.

To me this is interesting,
If I log on in firefox, I can't reply. If I log on in IE, I can.
Anyone know why that is?
