An very shallow pond. They protect the plants with massive concrete containers.  It has been redone a few times.

Gets pretty hot out in Simi Valley.  I guess those umbrellas provide enough shade to keep the fish from cooking....

Don't you love the mall ponds?  How the fish survive the shallow depth I don't know.  I love the massive concrete planters.  I sure would love having someone come in and change out my plants every now and then.  :D

 Mike,Simi is cooler than the valley where we are, but it was 90 there today. Dry though!

That's really nice, Jerry!  I love the big bunches of canna, especially the one with red leaves.   o(:-)

I was wondering about the temp of that shallow water, too.   :D

My koi survive in shallow ponds at my house. I have some in 15 inch ponds and some in 21 or 24 inch ponds. Here is a picture in a 15 inch pond.
