Been waiting for some pics from you Lawanna!  Those are great!  Those lotuses are wonderful.... What gives though?  I got 5 lotuses from Frank this spring, and not one bud yet :(  Guess the weather isn't warm enough here yet  ::)  I am anxious for some action from mine- at least they have aerial leaves now!  O0

Everything is so pretty.   o(:-)

Joyful Eyes is a nice lotus.  I won't be trying any more though...apparently too hot and dry around here.  Mine still show signs of life...but not much.

Beautiful shots! I am so envious of your lotuses. They are gorgeous. I still haven't managed to grow them yet. What a sweet little pup! My baby is a year old now.

Oh Lawana those are great pictures.  You are much farther ahead in the blooming season then us.  My Hollyhocks have gotten pretty tall and am noticing buds......Hoping the Japanese beetles stay away this year they are horrible to my hollyhocks.

Lawana , Every thing looks great! I am so envious. My Holly hocks have buds. But that is more than my Lotus has. Thanks for sharing. Hope to see more. :)

Thanks everyone...it has actually been a really off year...Everything was  about 3 weeks off this year....I usually have tons of lotus blooms around the first of June--this year we only had buds around the first of June...they didn't start blooming untill around the 10th.....and its only been since around the 18th that they really started blooming good...same thing with the lilies--mine are just now starting to really bloom--but, then I also did major dividing on them this year...

Great photos tranquility! Love those hollyhocks! Hey listen, when they go to seed would love some of each color if you have some to spare. My colored ones here are white with a light yellow center and some real light pink ones.
Wanna trade? I can see more and more of us are getting bitten by the lotus bug around here! :P
Such a sweet baby puppy too! How cute! :)

What is the name of the flowers in the first pic?  I have those, but in pink and red.  Great pictures.  Your lotus look fantastic.

Lizzy I don't mind sending you seeds at all...this is their 2nd year...I got them from Bonnie last year...My understanding is that holly hocks are bi-annual--not sure what that means other than it taking them 2 years to bloom...but she did send some pretty ones...I've got both the dark, dark purple and the light purples, also a very pretty double white....also some shorter ones that are ALWAYS covered in little purple flowers....

Alfonso--those are Hollyhocks

Lawanna, I love your flowers (especially the Flox and your Bear!)

Biannual just means that they flower in their second year. You can have first year and second year plants in the same area: the second year plants will bloom and set seed. The first-year plants will be foliage only, but come back next year to bloom and set seed.
