More 'Depressing' Photos...
« on: July 01, 2008, 01:44:48 PM »
They're telling me on another forum that my photos are depressing  :P , whaddayathink?   ?)(?

In this shot, the yellow object jumping out of the pond is a 4-5" long bullfrog tadpole...

And on my desk, fresh lotus every day...

Depressing, What?  Maybe its just because their's doesn't look like yours and it gets them down.  I sure don't find anything depressing about it, I find them amazing.

I think your photos are uplifting, enheartening, joyous... and anyone who does think so is (deleted because of the concern for immodest displays of intemperance).  @O@

Maybe they don't understand the meaning of the word depressing.... I would describe them more as beautiful or inspirational :)

I'm depressed because I don't have a lotus pond.  Your pond is the envy of all.  I like it.  o(:-)

Yep, Depressing...because its not in my yard!!!

Stunning, Joyce!

How long have those lotus been in that pond to have filled in so well?  I think I remember you saying you got those from Johns, but was that one tuber, or did you plant multiple tubers?

The L. A. Times article about the lotus pond in Echo Park was depressing...your pond is beautiful.

I'm not sure I would call it depressing since I don't have such a beautiful lotus pond.  But I can tell you that I'm jealous and I love you pond!! o(:-) o(:-)

It's hard to imagine the type of person that could see such incredible beauty and find it depressing.  I feel sorry for them.  Meanwhile though, I LOVE looking at your pictures and I find them uplifting and peaceful and beautiful.

Well, I'd be happy to have those growing anywhere for me.  The photos aren't very bright on my monitor compared to others you have taken so perhaps the "depressing" part is just that they aren't looking bright to some people?  They look like evening shots, just generally darker tones.  Does this classify as depressing to some people?

Perhaps they are jealous that they don't get to work somewhere where they can see such wonderful ponds every day?

I'm sorry, but, I fail to see anything depressing in these photos.  They are gorgeous.   o(:-)  Joyce, how large is the pond?  It is at your work place, isn't it?

Joyce that looks just like a ditch in Thailand, glorious. They grow like wild-fire there filling up every ditch, just like yours. Flowers as big as your head. Do you eat the tubers? They're delicious, taste just like a yam, and look very pretty sliced through. You should try, excellent in stews for a slow cook or for a bit of crunch in salads, like water chestnut, just cook first in boiling water then let cool and eat tossed in lettuce and stuff.

Joyce:

I came over here from the other forum to get cheered up, and here you are again, rubbing salt in the wounds of my poor departed arc en ciel!  However, I did find another bud on my Mrs. PDS, so your powers over my emotional well-being are diminished today!!!   lol @O@

The thing is, I can't see your photos, at least, not well.  We've talked about it here before... On some of our computers, Joyce's photos show up very dark and some are impossible to view at all.

So, since I can't see your beautiful pond, I AM depressed.
