Woops.
You gotta wonder... if they physically remove the algae, what they will be doing to the water quality. The boaters won't care. But they could end up sailing through a sea of dead water denizens instead of green goo...  :-\

Between the protests, the earthquake and the green goo - this Olympics is a herculean feat.

Sunbeam, you are right.  There seems to be many obstacles facing this olympics.  I just hope nothing terrible happends during the games.

I saw that on the news too and DH was watching the same channel in another room. I yelled, "STRING ALGAE", ponders know all about that.

Arrgh String Algae... Why does it do what it does? I don't think it has anything to do with "pollution". I can pull out pounds and pounds, yet my pond is not polluted. There must be something else going on there... phosphates? Nitrates? Nobody really knows, do they? Climate?
Perplexes the heck out of me!  :doh: &-) :swear: :tease: :thinking:
