Why do they love Colorado?
« on: July 04, 2008, 07:47:42 AM »
Everytime Colorado blooms the Koi eat the blossom.  >:(-

I can have four other lilies blooming and the minute Colorado opens they tear it apart! Tried yelling and scolding them; did absolutely no good.
Dianne,
I'm really not crazy, I just talk to my fish.

lol The fish thought you were calling them to dinner.

Maybe the blooms are closer to the water level?

I have my lilies in a "corral" that the koi can't get to.  But one pad has grown outside the enclosure.  Even though it's well above the surface of the water, the koi are somehow lifting themselves up high enough to nibble away at the pad.  Today it was so shot I had to pluck it off and throw it out.
