My new pond
« on: July 05, 2008, 08:05:35 AM »
I'm enjoying your forum. I posted some pics under the frogs topic and had a request to post some of my new pond. So here's some info...

We had a 100-gallon above ground tub for a couple of years, but I've always wanted something larger. We bought a kit at a pond show and started working on it around Memorial Day of this year. We finished within two weeks, working every day on weekends and after work. It's aboug 6X8 and goes from about 15 inches to 2 feet deep. I have a shebunkin, comet and a koi. I have an assortment of plants, from water hyacinths, to water lettuce, corkscrew rush, pickerel and a couple of hardy lillies. I love my pond. Hope you enjoy the pics!

Here's the old one:

Here's a few of the new one:

Thanks for looking!

VERY CUTE!!!!  O0
Very excellent pix too, and that one fish looks like he is elevating in the air over the plant.
Like he is saying to the 2 other fish, 'look what I can do!'   o(
The other 2 fish are like: 'WOW!'  :o

My daughter Jamie is loving the pix too!  o(:-)
Peace to all  ... Joyce

Looks similar to my pond, but your pond is much nicer.  I like it.  Nice work.

Isn't it nice to have a bigger pond?  Now you can have more FISH!!  :D

I like the pickeral rush - wish I had room for some in my pond.  And especially the flat rock on the water fall - very effective.  And my, what clear water!

Wow, I really like your pond.  Great waterfall too and like Joyce, I thought that fish was floating over the others...optical illusion!  8)

I love your pond, and your falls, and your clear water, and your fish, and your plants.  I especially love the different colors of the rocks around the pond...they make it very pretty.    O0

Thanks for all the nice comments! We really are enjoying the pond. It came out much better than we anticipated...

The comet was one of my original fish, so he is like two years old. The koi and shenbunkin are about a year old. They lived in a basement aquarium over the winter. I think they are liking their new, improved area to swim. o(

Thanks again everyone!

Nice looking ponds. And gorgeous fish. I haven't yet enclosed my above ground pond and the wood looks interesting - I was going to use masonry. What did you buy, and where?

Your sizes look similar to mine.  Check out my small pond blog at phillyrover.wordpress.com .
