Gotta plan on one of those little bistro sets in there too - Just the place for a cup of coffee on a chilly morning, amid the profusion of tropical foliage and blooms.

Nice LeeAnn. I'm glad it's up now just in time for fall. I agree with Mike about the table and chair. I love sitting in mine on a cold winter day. I especially enjoy it whens it's raining.

That's great LeeAnne!   Lucky you, you'll be having fun with that greenhouse.  Of course, just like your ponds there will never be enough room for everything you want to use if for.  emm

I wish there was room for a second one. LOL

Yes, I am planning on a table and chair. Maybe not as big as a bistro set but I have a resin chair and table already. There will be time for something more decorative later.

My father found me two redwood shelf units with slat shelves that adjust this morning at a garage sale for twenty bucks. I'll pick them up next time I'm on his side of the mountains which will be Nov 1st unless it snows heavy on the pass.

I plan to use the greenhouse to grow tropical plants that are not hardy here and for houseplants because my house has bad windows and also to store tropical waterlilies over the winter and maybe a few fuchsias and cannas too.

I need a high pressure sodium light and the greenhouse needs weatherization too. Bob found a ceramic heater on a job that he says will work great.

LeeAnne,

Is the ceramic heater Bob found electric or gas?  For the record, some plants are unhppy with gas heat, unless it is vented.  Orchids are notorious for not liking gas.  I use Propane to heat my Hoop house, and use a Southern Burner unvented heater (Which I heartlily recommend, vented or unvented), so my orchids must remain on our heated sun room.  They are pricier now than when I bought mine (I paid around $365, but now they are close to $500, but worth every penny).  See them at http://www.littlegreenhouse.com/accessory/heaters2.shtml#sburner

Also a very worthwhile item is ACF's greenhouse heater calculator.  See it at http://www.littlegreenhouse.com/heat-calc.shtml .  The calculator can be used for any type greenhouse construction and covering.

Let me know if you find it helpful.

Johns, Electric. I'll leave figuring out the heating stuff to Bob since he does it for a living.

Lilith, Did we ever figure out if you are Bihai/Regina or not? LOL
Most ferns are hardy here but I will have some Pteris and non hardy maidenhairs in there.

I like your base too.  I just got one this year too and got it up about 3 weeks ago, but mine doesn't have a fancy base like yours.  I'll try to remember to post a pic of mine.

Does anyone have a greenhouse with the panels like the ones from Harbor freight and have you had any problems with the wind?  Last night 2 of my panels were blown off by the wind, is there anything I can do to stop this from happening.  Winter hasn't even begun and I'm already thinking I'm going to have a problem.

I have lots of wind here and we just added more panel clips and siliconed the panels and we haven't had a problem.

We bought extra clips from a local greenhouse supply. You can order them from Charley's Greenhouses online too. They are cheap. Others have silcone caulked the panels in but I don't want to do that.

I highly recommend you reading the several hundred threads on Garden Web about Harbor Freight Greenhouses, there is a ton of info there.

Cool, you will enjoy it!  I love going out to my greenhouse and just sitting in the warm, espically on a cold wet day.  Messing with the plants and seeing something green during the gloomy old winter days.

I'm hoping we get the pond built and electricity run this weekend or everything I've bought it going to die. It is getting really cold now. I didn't have time to shop for plants when I was in Phoenix, I'm bummed.
