YIKES  :o  Make sure you keep that really clean, those ponding "scratches" have a way of staying sore for a long time.

Oh yea, great pics of your pond too!  :D

Debbie, that's a nice big scrape.....yes clean it out good, all that dirt and pond water around.  The fountain looks great as does the pond.  Fish sure are getting big.  Haven't had much time to work on or enjoy my ponds this season, Lotus got out late and not sure if 2 of them will amount to much, or just die off.  Well always next year.

OMG! that's a bad bo-bo. :(
Why is the first pondie so tiny?
I like tiny ponds - but don't have any. Most of my plantings exceed them TOO fast to even speak of.
But the landscaping design is very good. :)

It's not really a pond, I just planted the lotus tub. It's about 17" across and about 20" deep. I have never tried to winter something like this so it will be a first for me.  :-\ I plan to fill it with straw and cover it? Sure hope it works?

Ya know it just amazes me every year when the ice melts off that the fish are bigger :o And the silly things have sponned AGAIN 8-)~ how many times a year are they going to do this? I already have a gazillion little Shrecks in there from about a month ago :D What am I ever going to do with them all?  o(They sponed last year but I think all the eggs got eatten? So this is my first year with true baby koi. Some are pinkish, some orangeish, and some kindof brownish. When do they color up? Or are they born with what ya get?  :-\

That is a COOL idea, creating a small pond within the borders of your larger pond!  Just watch that the lotus doesn't escape its pot, as they're invasive.

I, too, have baby koi, now at least 3 months old, and barely an inch long, and most of them are either ugly "Tobies" or seem to be solid pale pink, gold, or white.  Very few have any interesting markings.  If they're going to get spots, I wish they'd do it soon, so I can decide which (if any) I'm gonna keep, and which to cull / give away.

That rock fountain is wickedly cool.  O0 Sorry about your battle wound, hope it's feeling better soon.

Love the little lotus hole... it sounds like your pot is close to (or the same as) a standard whiskey barrel liner? If so, the lotus should do fine over winter. Mine is sitting out gathering weeds all around it because I can't make up my mind where to "plant" it. It did overwinter (for several years) in it's previous location, only 75% of it was buried.

My shallow (1/2 whiskey barrel liner) lotus all died because I forgot to bring them in. They were only 7" deep or so. Dumb.  ::) Guess I was hoping too much for a mild winter.

I agree that the rock fountain is wickedly cool!!!   @O@ @O@ @O@

Did you really drill a hole through that big rock?  Did someone else do it for you?  Please tell me how you made your wonderful rock fountain.   :)

Sorry about the boo-boo. :( Keep it cleaned and keep using the Neosporin.
