It slowed down enough for me to run up and assess the damage :o There is even a birds nest in there! OMG I hope there weren't babies in it?????? The kids don't seem to mind the mess and are playing around in it.

Looks like you've got some cleaning up to do--------you'll get it done O0 Best to you,

Winds can be pretty brutal alright. I came back from golfing with my dad this afternoon, tree branches flying past us, gail force winds, called mom to tell her that we were alright, she says, Oh, it's raining? ---------------Gee, glad your worried about us mom. lol lol lol lol lol

Debbie, if you lived here on the eastern end of LI, this would be called a breezy day.  ;)

We had some brutal winds up this end of the valley too. Took the neighbors fascia boards off the one end of his house and opened a bag of shredding another neighbor had just taken out for pickup on the road. ugh.. shredding everywhere all over the neighborhood. and only the twins and myself helped his pick it up.  Our neighborhood didn't get too much damage though... the landing had a lot worse and driving through town I noticed a lot of trees down.  Glad you are safe and hope the repairs to the pond and yard don't take much effort.
Mom of twins, knitting nut, and want to get back into water gardening.

When I got home from work I jumped in and started cleanning it up. I filled my big lawn cart with junk and debree. The bird nest was the pitts! Feathers twiggs and straw you name it. I worked for about 2hrs. in there and I'll have to vacume the crap out of the bottom tomarrow. The news said that we had gusts up to 85 mph :o It was bad. I was very lucky compared to a lot. Part of the Nursing home and Hosp. roofs where I work were taken off.

Geeez, sure did mess things up for ya.

We had some strong winds here the other day too.  Hot strong winds, then later that night a storm.  I have a plastic/rubbermaid type bench out on the dock, that the seat lifts up for storage.  The wind blew so hard, we heard it move across the boards.  Went outside, sure enough it was in the pond, floating at the opposite end...LOL.  Think I will stick a piece of creek rock inside, so it has so weight in it.

Kim

Ponds are like patato chips, ya just can't have one.

I agree, you do have a mess there.  I'm just thankful that you didn't lose any trees or your roof!   :o  Those 85 mph winds can be scary.   :(
