Pond is filling out
« on: July 26, 2008, 12:31:42 PM »
My pond never looked so full.  I'm happy with the water clarity and the wonderful blooms.  Everything seems to be budding and blooming.  @O@  My water lettuce is stretching all over.  Here a few pics.  The second is my first Rhonda Kay.  Third is the almight bloomer Attraction (bought at Wal.. last year on clearance).

 O0  @O@

That water lettuce reminds me of the time one of my cats decided to use water lettuce like stepping stones.
It didn't work too well!  lol

Nice pond & pics!  You may want to double check your lilies as Rhonda Kay is purple.  Your pink looks like Rose Marie  :)

There is never enough room for all of the water lilies that I want ;-)

Your pond looks fabulous!  Thanks Kat, that's what I thought about the 2nd pic.  My Rhonda Kay is definitely purple/bluish.

Looks great!   ;D Where did you get the large rocks?  They are fab.  Being in Florida, we do not have any naturally occuring rocks down here, nor do we have waterfalls for that matter (two things I miss the most).  Maybe someone can come to Florida and open up a "natural rock" store so I can buy rocks.  OMG!  I cannnot believe we have to "pay" for something that is "free" up north.... ?)(?

Thank you all for the compliments.

Joyce- That would be funny to see

Kat- It is in its second day.  I received it as a gift along with other starters from Brenda.  Maybe it got mixed up.  That would be great if it is a Rose Marie.  I don't have one.  I guess now I do.

greenthumbnails- Here in AZ there are many material supply vendors.  I pulled up in my truck and had them dump a ton in.  I was soooo worried about my back window.  They loaded the rocks without any harm and I went back for more.  The rock is called Arizona Blonde (rip rap size).

Hey Alfonso, I'm so glad you got those lily starts growing so well.  I'll bet you'll be hooked on tropicals from now on.

You pond is lovely.

I'm also jealous of the rocks you have.  All we have here are ugly red iron ore rocks!

Brenda!!  I'm hooked on tropicals like crack.  I'm joking.  I have bought some since then.  Thanks again for helping me get started.  I guess we take rocks for granted here in the dessert.

I checked what a Rhonda Kay looks like and this is not a Rhonda Kay.  It does match with the Rose Marie.   @O@ Thanks for pointing that out to me.

I just "love" your pond and all those rocks.. rocks are my weakness.... I have been known to plan trips around where I can relocate rocks from .. hmm got a extra master suite for me while I help relocate some of those poor displaced things :)

 :D Haha...I am not alone in my "rock obsession"  I too like to look for rocks where ever I go, a quirk made more intense by the fact that I am in "rockless Florida"...My friends have to keep reminding me to "put that rock down, no souvenirs" when I visit the mountainous national parks... {nono}

Great pics! What a very natural looking pond you have. Even though  I have told myself that I have enough rocks in my ponds,I am always looking at more places where I can add them.My neighbor said" You never will have enough rock." I got my rocks the same  way you did .Only we hand unloaded them off the Bobcat loader I got mine for a bargain.
