I really know nothing specific about lotus, but how cold is cold? Could you take a long handle from a broom and put a hook on the end and snag the pot to raise it? I don't know what you mean by the lotus sinking. Was it floating to start with or did something knock it into a deeper area?

Hllo Esther.
Thanks for the reply.
They were floating, and must have gotten to close to the falls,
If it is not 90* outside, Water is cold!!
I bit the bullet and jumped in,tied the pots to where they could not get to the falls again.
HA! the air was cold, but the pond was actually refreshing ;D.
Just go's to show, I'd do anything for my pond. While I was in there I took the time to prune off dead lilly pads.
However, the  o( were not happy about me being in there. And were really not happy that there were big green things under thier falls. that is usually where they sleep at night. But all is well, and I found 2 new buds on the lilly plants o(:-), So all is good.......
Again, Thank you...........

Well good. At least you accomplished two jobs. So if the water was that cold, your flesh went numb and you didn't mind it after all.

LOL, that is pretty much it. I had to put on my slippers.
I even resorted to DH's gaffe hook, But all I managed to do was sink the other Lotus pot >:(-
When I was younger. I wouldn't have thought about it twice.
Now that I am Not  ::), Cold is Just Cold!!!.
It takes longer to warm up.
