New Pond Lights
« on: August 19, 2008, 05:59:22 PM »
I got a great deal at a local pet store.  I saw on the shelf the price was $17.  Originally, the price is $60.  Well, when the cashier rang up the item, it wasn't on sale.  I told the cashier the item was listed for $17, so she had to check.  I showed her where I got the lights from and the sign.  Well, it turns out the lights were on the wrong shelf.  I didn't see the fine print on the sign, which was for something else.  She was such a nice lady and gave me the deal of $17.  I came out of the store with a huge grin on my face.  The gig was up and the wife knew I was up to my old shenanigans.  They are Laguna Power Glo Mini and I like them.

They're IN the water?   Hmmm.  Neat idea.  Do they help you see the fish at night?

I may have something new to scout around for.

So evidently none of the employees saw you move the sign.   lol

Does the underwater lights make the loose floating crud show up more at night?

I have a set of lights as well that I got at Lowes.  They don't really make the fish show up since they're usually above the lights (making them shadows).  But it is neat, and for us it keeps my bf from falling in the pond when he gets off work at 4 am.  lol

Esther- That's too funny.  I would have done that back in high school.  They are bright, but only the surface is noticable.

I tried them under water, but I didn't like the result.  The water lettuce covers everything.  It took a couple of different positions for me to decide.  The also come with color lense.  I don't care too much for them.

Mine have the lenses too, and I don't like them either.  My bf keeps nagging to put in the red lenses.   :o  Spooky.  {nono}

I had some submersible but they wen out recently. They had the lenses, which got mucked up by algae, but I liked the red & the green ... the blue lens just looked like  white light, it was cool too though.

I'd like to get some more, they're just expensive.

I had a friend who let me swim in his pool last year.  I'd get there at 5:am, turn on the lights, and, if he had forgotten to switch to clear, I was stuck swimming in a rotating cascade of changing rainbow colors.

That might be fun to look at, but swimming laps, well, it makes it kinda hard to see where you're going!

Tinkster- ;D ;D  You're on to me.  My wife doesn't understand why some people find me amusing.  I tell her something worked for her to stay along.

Thanks Howell.  They're from Petsmart.  Esther said ebay has them as well.
