How to transplant?
« on: October 13, 2006, 05:54:36 AM »
I have to transplant a Jade Plant and an Aloe. I have heard Jade's don't like to be transplanted but I have no choice, it's huge in an itty bitty pot.  I'm not too familiar with succulents so my question is do I need potting soil for catcus or regular potting soil? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Regular potting soil is just fine, just dont water as often. The best time to water a jade plant is when it starts to get slight wrinkles in the leaves.

Here if one thows jade plant aside it will root.  I suspect a minor amount of attention as Sean suggested will do fine. Aloes are easy as well.
No green thumb required.

I've never been able to grow jade plants or even keep them alive.  Seems I either water them too much or too little or they just die cuz they don't like me!

Teresa I overwater too.  They don't seem to care.
We gave some to an Aunt on Phoenix.  They thrived on her patio til summer, than the buggers "boiled"
