Pond in Olympia, Wa.

It's a beautiful day in the Pacific Northwest!!!!  It has been an unusual spring and summer however...  Cooler than most...  Lily of the Nile is a month and a half late along with alot of other stuff...  Best year yet for bare-root impatiens in the waterfall...

Here're some pictures from today:

Your pond and landscape look wonderful!  As always I like your tall torches and the bridge too.

I think my garden is falling into the fall mode with all the heat we've been getting.  My lily of the niles (agapanthus) flowers have already withered a month ago and I finally cut down the sorry looking yellowing or dry stalks.  I'm way behind on my garden work.  :-\

Katfish....  The tall blue's are the Lily of the Nile...  Very late this year...

Thanks MiGuy, I've been on the road a bunch this year so my maintenance schedule has suffered also... This is the first year I have not had string algae... and I really mean "zero".... Hallelujah!!!!!  I think its a combo of barley straw and me not messing with my "skippy-style" filters...  I always would clean them and I now agree with Jerry that the "leave them alone" process works better...

Zsa Zsa Dahling you're too kind...........

Tardy getting back to you all, sorry about that...  Left my laptop in a motel room, then drove 250 miles away, so I was without it and couldn't respond not only to you but to my bosses, etc. etc...... {:-P;; {:-P;;

Yellow plant at edge of pond is Creeping Jenny..  Watch out it can get rambunctious,...  but it is year round color here and I really do like it alot...

Some other plants are a purple Hebe next to the fir tree, a couple white Tasmanian Spurge up front, perennial lobelia, gaillardia, pink bayberry, sedum, two kinds of ligularia, native sedge in the pond, pickerel in the pond, alyssum, coreopsis, astilbe, dahlia, impatiens here and there, dianthus, palm tree looking thing is a dracaena, wave petunias, ..........  Um, probably more but ..... Senility slowly sets in...  In my case it's not so slow.. :D

Take Care ....

Dave

Dave, wow what a fantastic looking yard and pond....soooo green and colorful.  Now if I had only known about this when I was last out to visit my daughter I would have looked you up.  To bad they now moved from Dupont to VA (military) however they did not sell their home yet so maybe some day they will be back in the area.

Dave, we are neighbors (almost)  I am in Glenoma WA if you know where that is?  LOL most people don't!  Hwy 12 towards White Pass.  Your pond and yard are totally awesome!  I have new pond and most of flowers will have to wait until next year now.  How do you plant the impatiens in the waterfall?  Plants from nursery and wash roots? Or do you grown from seeds?  The creeping Jenny is awesome too!

Dave,
I have been watching and looking at your pond/gardens for a number of years now, and my only regret is that when I was out in your neck of the woods, back in 02, I was not into ponding at that time.
Thaks for sharing your beautiful gardens and pond.

Thanks again everyone...

As I've said before, pond and gardening are my therapy...  Mental and Physical...

Peg...  I'm through Glenoma often on my way to Yakima via White Pass, (that's where the majority of my rocks were obtained, just east of the summit where it says not to stop because of rock-slides....!!!!  I stop... {:-P;;)

EagleEye, Marla, or anyone... next time you're around PM me and come on over...
