Look what's floating in my stock tank?
« on: September 13, 2008, 03:30:03 PM »
This is the same stock tank that leaked a while back.  Repaired it but still leaked some.  So I let it be and now the silt and gunk seem to have plugged the leak.  I do plan to put my lotus in it.  We have had about 10" of rain since Friday afternoon (not related to Hurricane Ike) and this is what I found this morning.

A dead mice or rat.

I don't like mice or rat so I didn't even want to move the floating debri off before taking the pic.  It is Ewwww for me and DH is going to "take care of it" for me.  I didn't ask what he was going to do though.  ::)

Must be he fell in and couldn't get out. They swim well otherwise. I think it's a rat, judging by his tail.

Ewww! Now I have never had any mice in my stock tanks. I've had a few dead birds but not mice. ::)
It really creeps me out when there is a bird in one of them and I make DH fish it out. Yeah, me, the EMT gets squeemish over a dead bird. ::) lol

Yuck!  I felt bad this spring because I found a couple dead baby birds but never a mouse.

Yep, pretty gross.  DH said he did poke at it when he first saw it and it was dead.  He took it out and buried it some where in the yard.  If there is more, DH said he will 'take care of it'.

It always makes me sad to find these guys.  I've not seen any in my pond, but it never fails to happen when I'm caring for my mom's pool for her.  :P

I found a huge adult rat dead under my kitchen table a couple weeks ago. Courtesy of one of my kitties  :o  I thought it was their toy until I about had my hands on it. It totally startled me when I realized it was a dead rat. I screamed bloody murder. My father in law who was visiting DH in the yard didn't realize I knew those words..... :D

The screaming was involuntary. I normally am not bothered by mice or rats or spiders or snakes but thinking it was fake and realizing it was real freaked me out. They heard me a couple doors down. OOPS

Ewww!  I can't believe you took a picture of it!   lol

I found a dead mouse floating in my pond once, I felt really bad.  It was a shame, if he'd just swam over to one side he could have crawled across the rocks, but I guess he stayed on the deep end.
