I've used the regular Microlift PBL which is a bacteria and the Sludge eater which I believe is a bacteria but a bit more powerful.  I've never had an issue with either.  I don't think that it is going to breakdown the leaves quickly, it's probably a bacteria product that will aid in the breakdown a little quicker.  Best way is to get the net out and cover the pond or us a hand skimmer type net or grabber to get them out of the pond as soon as possible.

I use the autumn lift for all the debris buildup and also the spring lift just to help boost the beneficial bacterias.  This works for lazy ole me.  :P

lol Funny, Scott!  If I weren't so lazy I would use the net lift too!  It's alot easier to just toss a cup of stinking liquid!  ;D

I use it as well.  It really keeps my water clear.  I do try to get as many leaves out as possible on my own, though.
