Thanks Peg for posting this for me. I appreciate it!
I'm back FINALLY. Thanks for all the warm words guys. Being without power wasn't so bad. We ended up being without it for 6 days. Slowly getting the fridge stocked back up with all the odd things and codiments. Insurance Co giving us the run around. Get this our adjustor lives in Alabama??? huh, I live in KY. Go figure. We had to go get estimates on the pc, along with other things then take them back to the agent. Basically we were our own adjustor.
What happened to the pc, remember I managed to get when we had the generator towards the end of the week. Well it worked fine, but when the power came backon we had a few surges. Thats when the pc power supply fried. Took longer to get the estimate than to have it fixed.
Been decorating for Halloween was planning to finish tonight, but a 45 gallon fish tank had plans of its own. DH was hooking the pc back up and my son came in and said Dad, he said WHAT? WHAT DO YOU WANT! He came off with, this is way more important than any computer the back room is flooded. I figured a hose busted on the washer. Nope, the seal on the tank at the bottom. The tank is a 45 gallon tall, and was over 1/2 empty already. It was coming out of the bottom corner with such force it covered their tv, play station 2, both controllers, dvd player etc......... the carpet over half of it was just soaked. This room is 14x 16. I used a steam cleaner and sucked water for 2 hours. Kept telling dh, this isn't going to get the job done. Although had already emptied the container to it 3 times. It was just too wet. I went and got a razor blade knife, and started cutting. I told him it was for the best.
When it rains it pours...LOL, was planning to get new carpet back there just not now. I still haven't replaced my daughters carpet in her room from the filter leaking. I'm almost to the point that I'm done with having tanks in the house. Both times a freak thing, but I'm starting to fear them. Only one left in the house right now and its a 55 gallon in my room. We had, had this tank for 17 years ourselves, and it wasn't knew when we bought it. Guy had it like a year. So, out of 17 years, I really can't complain. Just ruined alot of stuff. Oh, by the way....dh decided to unplug the tank, tv...etc all on a surge bar. He went to touch the surge bar cord and got shocked. I made the kids get out of the room. Then dummy did it again. I said wait a minute, and ran outside and kicked the breaker off. Can't believe he did it twice. DUH. I can't see my house with out a tank. Guess I'll be out carpet hunting and painting. But I can still take breaks between working here at home and my job.
Any way, I'm glad to be back!! I missed you all.
