RETIREMENT PLAN

If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in Delta Airlines one year ago, you would have $49.00 today.
If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in AIG one year ago, you would have $33.00 today.
If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in Lehman Brothers one year ago, you would have $0.00 today.

But, if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the aluminum cans for the recycling refund, you will have received  $214.00.  Based on the above, the best current investment plan is to drink heavily & recycle. It is called the 401-Keg.

Now we're getting somewhere in this crisis.  :) And what about all those beautiful wine labels?  :) We save all the labels of our best chocolates & wines (just because they're so pretty).
My hubby has always had a hankering to make cool chandeliers out of pretty wine bottles. Surely they'd be worth more than plain old aluminum.  ;) I was listening to a radio program this morning and they were talking about bottles of (really good) wine still selling in the 5,000/bottle range, and the selling prices have not been lowered by the current "crisis".

My Mom was concerned that she had all this money in AIG and Wachovia, but today, Wells Fargo bought Wachovia for 15 BILLION. If there is such a dire situation, 15 Billion seems pretty darn sweet to me. No? In any case, Wachovia is obviously not worthless to investors.
