Here's one I hope not to see again, I always look now though. It was in a towel that we had used to catch water coming under the sliding door in a heavy rain.
Jonna - that reminds me of a funny story from years ago. I was at a friends home and he was in the bathroom washing up and dropped something behind the toidy. He reached down without looking and got stung by a scorpion, and immediately panicked. His brother got a jar and caught the scorpion and they rushed to the emergency room, fearing the worst. Rodney even told all of us that he was feeling faint and that he was going to pass out, and he's a big kid at over 220 lbs and 6'2" tall. He continued telling everyone he was getting light-headed as they rushed off to the hospital.
Upon his return, he didn't want to say a word, but his brother spilled the beans. When they showed the doctor the scorpion, he said, "that's the one? Oh, they can't hurt a baby, they don't have any venom in them at all...a bee sting is far worse than that could ever be", and released Rodney without so much as an antibiotic or band-aid. But I think the doctor did offer him a lollipop, which he refused as he stormed out in embarrassment. We didn't let him live it down for years!!
