Author Topic: Jerry / Sean, a flag for where we live? (Read 5280 times)

I always see questions about, in particular getting ready for winter, and as we all know, it depends on where we all live. So, my point here.
A motorcyle forum that I belong to has, for each member, their state flag flying so we know where we all live, no-one has to freak out because someone knows where they live, but would be a great help in being able to answer a question about their pond at that time of the year.

So, what do you all think?
I'm flying a Wisconsin flag.

Dense? if it's a good thing then you are and if it's a bad thing then you aren't.

We have the national flag, (pick check box) but we can't pick the state flag.

There isn't a mod to add states but people can easily add where they are in the profile under location

OK, so I'm dense. Tried but can't get the report thingy, like the one Jerry has at the bottom of his posts, to stick....

Would like to see the report thingy for the location and weather temp. Can someone please make a step by step pointer for doing this? Obviously I'm missing something! (No comments on how easy it is

since I'm having such a difficult time trying)

I don't have a state flag on mine but manage to put my location on in a few places. I guess if people don't want their location known, we can't make them fill in the information on their profile. Or maybe they just skip it. More than once, I and others have reminded folks to add that info to their signature or profile but it just doesn't work.

OK!!!

Now I know why it never worked for me!!!! I was sticking the http thing in the wrong place. I only needed to copy the site to the box where I had my own typed in description below! Too easy....I just try hard to make it difficult

I got mine here http://3dflags.com/us_states/index.html I right clicked on the flag went to properties, copied that between a couple of image tags and we are good to go....andy

Karen, I will assume your flag is Illinois, so put this: http://3dflags.com/art/comps/usail01/3dflags_usail01-0001a.gif between two image tags and you will get this

I thought we were doing the flag that Jerry has under his name but I saw what Andy did so I tried that and unfortunately I will have to read more carefully what I need to do to get the California flag to wave for me.

I'm not giving up but will come back to this when I get a chance. Already spent too much time crossing my eyes!!

Annette, if you go to the original website http://3dflags.com/us_states/index.html and click on the flag for your state, you will see an option for large, medium, or small. I used medium for mine.

I'm sure someone fixed my first try with the img tag Andy mentioned, 'cause they weren't there when I tried. Then I stupidly erased the whole line to make the flag larger. I went out to the web world to figure out Andy's img tag and plugged something in....and it works. Didn't say I understand it; like trying to fit a square into a circle.
