Anyone drive one?
I'm thinking very seriously of getting one.
So what do you drive?

I have a 3/4 ton Dodge Ram... extended cab, 4 wheel drive, deisel.  I've had Chevys (trashed it in 3 years), and a 1 ton Ford flatbed.  I will never, ever buy anything other then a Dodge again.

I just have a Chevy 1/2 ton... didn't need the 'extra' of the 3/4 ton. I too like Dodge but have a dh who doesn't and will only buy a Chevy  :-\

Um, what do I drive?? Does it have to be a pickup? I drive a '98 Plymouth Neon with no bells or whistles. Oh wait, it does have a radio. It does have AC. It is an automatic. And I can "pop" the trunk from inside the car. By the way, it has 32,000 miles on it and I got it for $4000. It still smells new inside. Evidently belonged to a "little old lady".

Our other vehicle is a '76 Corvette. That has maybe 3,000 miles on the motor and got driven maybe 4 times this summer.

Our other vehicle is a '86 Ford van with just over 100,000 miles on it. It has only seen snow maybe 3 months of it's life in Michigan. We only use it for trips or to fill in when something else quits.

Oh wait, we do have a pickup!! It's a '62 Ford Unibody but I suppose that doesn't count.

The other vehicle in our garage is a '98 Chevy 1/2 ton plumber's truck with about 250,000 miles on it. It takes a lickin' but keeps on tickin'.

Agree with Tammie on the Dodges.  Ford and Chevrolet -- look good, but also stay in shop
lots, or did for me.  The old Dodge, it just keeps on ticking. Mine is gas burner tho.  Have had
diesel,  one ton Ford flatbed.  With that straight stick would work you to death to
drive it tho.  Chevrolets for me were good for about 80,000 miles, then I start spending money
on them. Fords   -- hmph!! stay in shop more than on the road.   Don't have much use here
for the 4 bangers, I'd get killed in one of them!!!!

I have a Nissan Titan.  It is able to haul a load 3/4 ton in the bed.  I tested it with pallets of stacking stones for a raised garden, pallets of sod, and boulders for the pond.  Not all at the time, of course.  I like it.  Drives like a car, but that goes with most new trucks.

Hi Steve,    I’ve had this ‘89 Ford XLT, half ton, long wide bed since ‘91.  When I load it with 2500 pounds the bed sets about  ¾ to 1 inch
off the rear axle.  I’ve hauled over 300 loads of red clay, 20 loads of brick, 35 tons of rock, and over 80 tons of cotton seed hulls with 2200 to 3200 (I added overload shocks) per load.  It’s old and beat up just like me, kinda ruff ‘n ruddy, but I plan on using it to get 20 tons of cotton seed hulls each January until it dies.  But all the vehicles I’ve ever owned have different personalities just like the people that put them together and the people that own them. My ‘03 F150 Lariat Off  Road Crew Cab with bells and whistles is not a work truck per se but a very nice ride.

Good luck, Paul

Hey Paul,

Now that's a work truck. O0 At this point, I'm leaving all of my options open. I might end up with a 1/2 to or a 3/4 ton, ford, chevy, dodge, or might just keep my explorer, but I doubt that. I'm really ready for a truck.

I've got to ask though, what do you do with cotton seed husks?

I drive an '89 Dodge Dakota which is a half ton. It has the 3.9 L Magnum 6 cylinder. It looks rough and has a slight leak in the oil and water but moves like a scalded dog. I got it used with a bed liner and a diamond plate tool box.
Happy ponding,

I like my Honda Odyssey. I can fit 4' x 8' sheets of plywood in it, a toilet, and still have enough room for a couple stock tanks, filtration stuff, an entire Lego collection, the cooler full O food, AND beach stuff. All at the same time (kids ride on roof). ;)
