Finally, the rock columns are done except for minor tweaking.

Here is what it looked like today:

Really, really nice.  I like it with the spotlight, so you can enjoy it at night.  And I would love to have a picture window like that, to sit indoors and see the pond / water features.

Are you going to have fish in the pool?

Beautiful!  Like Stonehenge--only with water!  Love the tabby cat too, and a great place for kitties to get drinks.  8)

I might put some white cloud mountain minnows in there but nothing bigger. There are three still ponds surrounding this pond that you can't see very well in these photos. They have mini and small waterlilies in them.

Bobcat loves to chase treefrogs around these ponds, we get hundreds.

Looks fabulous!  Did you drill the rocks?

I wondered about the snow in you're sending down and across the country in the 1st few photos until I got to the snow scene.  :D

Bob drilled the rocks. They are available to buy pre-drilled but then they would have been about triple the cost. It has taken several years to get this project finished. Had to rent a baby backhoe to get the columns into position.

Joyce, that is Miscanthus 'Little Bunny' right behind Bobcat :) Here is a better picture.

The snow is a foot deeper this morning. They said on the news that it is the worst since 1968.

Wow, LeeAnne, it's beautiful! Do all the rocks run from the same or different pumps? That's one heck of a big drill bit.

I like how the ponds run along your walkway, it adds a lot of interest. Nice plants, too.

What a cute smile your hubby has!

How long did it take to drill those holes?  I've drilled through stone before, and, depending on the rock, it can be darned near impossible!

I love that ground cover - the puffy lime green stuff.  The landscaping around the pond is just gorgeous.

The SUMMER pond, that is.  I don't much care for what's around the pond right now.   {:-P;;

The biggest one took a long time to drill. Several sessions. It took several years for this project to be completed.

There is one pump which I sure hope isn't ruined by the ice. It hit so fast we were unable to disconnect it and remove it.

Wow!!  Leeanne... What a great job!!  Are those basalt columns from East of the Mountains???  God, that had to be a tough job to drill thru them!!!!  Way to go Bob!!!!

Yep, we finally ended up with 14 inches of snow here at my place in Olympia...  I kept my pump running 24/7 and all looks OK, I can only see the creek and waterfall tho, as the pond is ice and snowed over...

Merry Christmas....    Dave

Do you worry about algae building up on the stone?  How would you prevent that?  You sure can't put bleach in the water!

Hi Dave
Yes, they are basalt columns from Washington. They took many hours to drill.

Julles I'm not worried about algae. I might change my mind but at this point I'm not worried.

The snow is more a foot deeper now than in the pic with the snow. Portland is buried under snow and all but shut down.

Yes, I need to divide it this spring. I can't believe it has been five years. Thanks :)

Joyce sent me this grass for my 40th birthday, the hybridizer lives on Long Island and she knows him and he wrote a birthday message to me on the pot. I kept the pot.  o(:-)
