Hi everyone, I'm Janice otherwise known as jw and I just joined the group today and am buzzed out from being on this pc all night. Anyway I live up here in Arlington, Wa. because I grew up here in Washington and here where I am now we have sandy soil and pond diggin is easy as pie! No rocks or pokey things to pierce your liner up here in Arlington. You could dig a pond a day and not even get out of breath! Heck, I'm thinking of digging my own swimming pool.........just have to finish it before hubby gets home or he'll have a fit and fall in it! Just dreamin on this project...........but who knows maybe someday. Time to go to bed..................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
jw  Nice to meet you all even if you are in bed!

Welcome Janice.  My soil was all sand as well.  Very easy digging.  The only negative was concern for the vertical sides slumping, so I ended up lining the sides with cinder block.

Welcome Janice!

I have enviable soil - clay.  OK, not so enviable but at least I do not have to use cinder blocks in my pond  :D

I'm in Sierra Vista, AZ because our youngest daughter and newest grandson are here.  Questions?  Didn't think so...

I was born in Michigan. I was raised in Michigan. I was educated in Michigan. I got a job in Michigan. I was married in Michigan. He worked in Michigan. Had babies in Michigan. They were raised in Michigan. They got jobs in Michigan. The ones that got hitched, married in Michigan. They all stayed in Michigan. I was divorced in Michigan. I remarried in Michigan. His job was in Michigan. I retired from a bank in Michigan. He recently retired in Michigan. So I guess Michigan it is.

Born and raised in Phoenix Arizona.  I joined the Marine Corps straight out of high school.  I was stationed in Camp Pendleton, CA.  During my enlistment, we did lots of training.  I've been all around the world, courtesy of the navy.

I wanted to stay in California, near the beach.  Everything seemed so expensive.  So I came home and went to college.  I have moved twice since I graduated.  Each time further away from the Phoenix.  Now, I'm in a little town called Buckeye.  It's actually away from the town in a little community surrounded by desert.  I wouldn't mind moving a little further away and investing in 10 or more acres.

This thread is a great idea!  O0

I was born in Illinois.  The Navy sent me to the East Coast, and I never wanted to leave.  We lived in VA, MD, PA, NY, FL and VT.  When we retired, we decided to move as close to our daughters as possible.  One is in MD, and one is in NY.  So Central PA is it.  We love it.  Absolutely the best yet.  And the last!
