New addition to the family
« on: January 26, 2009, 05:58:48 PM »
His name is Chesty "Willie" Puller.  He is my first dog. @O@  As a kid, my mother would not allow dogs.  To this day she hates them.  I don't know why, but she does.  Well, since the Marine Corps, I've wanted an english bulldog.  Here we are.  He's a handsome lil guy.

He's quite large, I'm assuming he's not a puppy, or am I wrong.   Good luck, dogs can be a lot of work, but also very rewarding.......Our two have both passed and we have not gotten any more, would like to do some traveling without the pet worries, but still have a couple cats.   There are many days I still miss them.

He's 1 1/2 years old and well trained.  I like it that way.  Then again, I've never had a puppy.

Sweet dog o(:-)

My Mom didn't like dogs either, so we never had them.  Only kind of pet allowed in our house were guppys. o(

I have two sons about your age.  When they moved into their own homes, one of the first things they did was get a dog.

Congratulations!  @O@

Good that he is well trained, Bulldogs can be very stubborn. Smart of you to adopt an adult instead of a puppy for your first dog.

My mother wasn't in to dogs either but I've never really wanted one myself. We had cats, I have cats. My husband grew up with dogs but loves our kitties and doesn't want a dog either.

A bulldog named Chesty Puller -- Outstanding !  The Marine Corps would be proud.

LeeAnne- That's nice of your hubby.  I'm not a cat person either.  I wasn't sure about the dog, but the opportunity was there.

Thanks everyone.  He's a great dog.  A little smelly, but great.  Actually, very smelly.

I have a customer who has a Bulldog that she brings to work with her and her entire store reeks. That dog stinks worse than any dog I've ever smelled. Nauseating. The smell hits you when you open the door. She sells wood furniture and tea and incense and her shop should smell heavenly.  I wonder, do they get yeast infections in their skin folds? I can't see anything visually wrong with the dog, he doesn't scratch while I'm there.
