I am still sticking with good ol', Windows XP. From what I understand, Windows 7 is just Vista with a new name and a couple of fixes. People got such a bad taste in their mouths from the name Vista so they just dropped the name and simplified it back down to the Windows brand name and a version number. Anything that Windows can bundle into their operating system for your convenience, you can find from another software supplier. No sense going with a new operating system that may not be compatible with most of your current hardware drivers, proprietary software and 3rd party software. Remember how long it took for drivers to become available for Vista? Most people had to dump old hardware because the drivers were not supported.
I just spent a couple hundred upgrading my computer to make it last me a few more years and become functional for High Definition video editing with my new High Def camcorder and compatible with Pixela.
I wouldn't jump in until they can prove it is better than what I am already running. I would assume that there are so many additions that you would need a new powerhouse computer to run the operating system and all of it's bundled software.
Cheers,
Sean
