at his Lecture on Hellebores yesterday for the Horticultural Alliance of the Hamptons at the commmunity center in Bridgehampton.

Ooooo. I have to get that book!

What amazes me so much is that humans actually eat plants. How did we ever figure out which ones were edible? It makes me truly appreciate the length of time it took in order to be able to pass on valuable information about which plants could be eaten, and which were deadly. And so many are not edible.

Fascinating!! About how they determined what was deadly and what was not: hopefully as they were dying, they were able to gasp out the name of the plant that they had just eaten.

It makes me realize how many people suffered for our current state of being.  Living things learn from mistakes.  :)
