We don't get to pick, but when there is a call, we submit.  I did to play Adam Sandler's dad, so did 400 other guys!
Sure if a movie like "dances" was being cast, I would send resume and head shot to the casting director.
Most go in the trash.not an easy business.

I was "connected" 9 years ago, but my best pal passed away.  he would ask me if I wanted to be in one of his flicks.  I had no interest! :'(
Howard produced the "Cheech & Chong" films.  Who knew?

It is not a portfolio but rather a "REEL."  They say it makes a big difference.

Here are a few head shots that Sold me on the photographer.
The bottom one of me seems like the best one of me.. so far.  Yeah, I tried to make it bigger, no luck.

I had a pony tail once and was in Seattle. I was asked if I was an Indian a number of times.

Jerry, I like #62 best, it shows the most "character" to me.  I also like 49 and 45.   Good luck

Found this one from a photo shoot I did a year ago.The one I now have as my avatar was picked a lot. There are a bunch like that that are VERY similar.  You guys picked it too. Close to a decision.  Your help has been great.
I use an actors forum and they evaluate head shots for other actors all the time.  Your opinions are equally informed.
I am really impressed that so many are savvy. o(:-)

I LIKE THE COWBOY hat guy the very best of all. I don't know why. Maybe because it isn't so posed and professional looking. You look friendly/happy and just going to snap a picture a minute and then go get on your horse and go cut some doggies out on the range.

I like the cowboy shot too.

Do an American Indian, really. All you need is a turkey feather, and wear a denim shirt. A modern cowboy/Indian. It will work.

Are you up for a REAL challenge? Do one as Yoda.  o(:-)
