Hello...remember me?
« on: April 14, 2009, 06:49:13 PM »
Hey all! I haven't posted in what seems forever. I hope all has been well with you! Not much going on here, just busy as ever and kids are growing like weeds. Get this...Dylan is already 10 and Evan is now 5! Can you believe it?! My little pond containers are all coming alive nicely, so I decided to drop in and post.

Looks like I'll be spending some time in Anaheim and San Diego this summer. If anyone has any pond-related ideas or just general 'must see' things to add to the list, please let me know! For the San Diego area, I'm definitely taking the boys to Lego Land, the San Diego Zoo, and probably the aircraft carrier museum. I would also like to go tide pooling and see at least the aquarium at Scripps. We drove back to Florida for spring break. I'll post some photos of the Gainesville B&B we stayed at, they have a lovely koi pond. It's the place we stayed when we first visited Gainesville.

Sweetwater Branch Inn B&B (...why did we move from Florida again?!)

The Lego shop at Downtown Disney. My family loves Legos.

HI Jessica, yes it has been a long time. And the boys are growing like you say. Hard to believe that much time has passed. Wow that B & B is fantastic. I'm looking forward to more posts and pictures from you.

What adorable boys!

The grown-ups look so happy together.

The B&B is super!  My, they've put a ton of work and creativity into that place.

Dennis I do remember you and that bridge is Awesome!

Jessica, it's nice to see you again and I'm so glad your family is a Lego family!  o(:-)  Your boys are growing! I was in San Diego in 1986... a very long time ago! I have some old pics from back in the day, as my brother was deployed (NAVY) on the Kitty Hawk ("Press On") at that time (many times, actually). He spent lots of time in the Indian ocean/Somalia area and I recently reflect on that time and whether we could have made a difference back then that would reflect a positive affect in their non-existent gov't as it exists now.  :D  I have very fond memories of the Officer's Mess (Shrimp and Piles of it, but mostly breaded), and marvelous tours of the great NAVY ships. But no Lego...alas, I was young and stupid. I was young and stupid while in Denmark as well- failing to visit the original Legoland.

Sooo... what kind of Lego do your boys like? My Matthew is completely smitten with those little "Racers", "Power Miners", and "Star Wars". My girl wants nothing to do with any Lego. I have a ton of "Technic" parts that I want to make robots with, but don't seem to have a lot of support in that area ...  >:(-

I'm hoping your horsetail comes up (again) this spring!  :)

I certainly remember both of you!

Jessica, the San Diego Wild Animal Park is also well worth visiting even if you go to the zoo too. It is very different. Balboa Park where the zoo is also has great museums and plantings. I love Sea World.
