Tink, What you have created is just beautiful.  Everything looks wonderful.  Does this mean you finally get to sit back and relax for a bit?

lol no emmm.. I never sit back and relax.. I am not sure I would enjoy that.. I love the redooing of it.  I will always find something to change with it all.. its a long shot away from what i want.
tlc.... all my rocks I made from cement.  I carried it up the hill and down in the pond with buckets and  poured the rocks where they sit.  I had no way to move any big rocks in so I made them on top of the liner.. Big mistake should I ever have a leak.. they would have to be busted out to get to the liner but who thought of that then hehehe.

Tink, you MADE those big ROCKS??? Get out!! Girl you are good!  O0 I had no clue that you made them :)

If you did have real rocks there in place of the ones you made you will still have a huge problem if you had a leak (fingers crossed). They would be a major undertaking to get them moved I would think..

That is absolutely stunning! I have a big hill like that and that's what I want mine to look like. I'm saving your pictures for my vision board!!  Do you have any before pictures you could share? I'd love to see what you started with.

Thanks!

Tink made a good thread here a while back about making rocks and I believe a big leaf impression on concrete. I have a plant with huge leaves and wat to do the same thing. Tink, was that you that did the leaf impressions? If so, would you please refresh me on how to do it?

holldoll.  I will post pictuers of the start but its pretty ugly, I just have to find them later today.

Bullfrog.  I dont think I posted instructions here on how to make the leaves, I did the mushrooms but I have made alot of the leaves.  I use rubarb and elephant ears and some hosta leaves.  They need to have big veins on the backside to make it pretty.  I  followed lots of different advice on the huperfufa forum of garden web and most of them recommended concrete instead of hypertufia because of the details you get out of the leaf and if you use concrete instead of a hypertufia mix.  I have them both and both are beautiful in their own way but I love the details the concrete leaves vs hypertufia .  Quickrete has now put out instrustions on how to get even more details with a bag of their concrete resurficer.  I have to admit it works wonderful!  I am fortunate though that my lowes has tons of busted bags and they sell it all to me for .50.  Some of this stuff can get really expensive.    I will post as many of the links as I can find that I have used to make my leaves but my BEST advice to you is try a small leaf first.

BE sure to check this link... it shows the difference in concrete/ resurfacer  and how much more details you get plus the ease of mixing

http://www.the-artistic-garden.com/leaf-casting-super-tips.html  (The most detailed easier leaf I ever made and good info at the bottom on how to get good ruffled edges like its a real leaf) also tells you about pinholes.  you will get some BUT if after you mix up your concrete, you keep dropping the bucket on the ground it will work a ton of those air bubbles out of it.   I have a few leaves that have litterally no bubbles in it.  I  am trying to find the thread on gardenweb on how to minimise the bubbles.. kind of in a rush so I will post more of them later.

http://forums2.gardenweb.com/forums/load/hypertufa/msg030744004232.html?12  great tips on ruffled edges.. I use the wet sand and sometimes papertowel tubes if the leaf is huge

Tink is an overflowing cup of goodness and creativity and a real asset to this forum. I have said before that between her and Esther they could build and create just about anything. I have visited a few forums in my many days on this rock and we are truly blessed with all of the talent, ideas and good spirits that reside here, this is a special place to me, a cool bubbling brook of ideas, help and friendly people with great management. they quickly swat the Viagra trolls on the nose and send them on their way. There is so much exchange of usefull information here and harmony. If you want to see drama and constant turmiol go to the KFDM Beaumont forum, these people are so bitter they just wake up every morning looking for a fight. It started out nice, as a place to reach out and help each other during a time of crisis, when hurricane Rita tore our place part. We exchanged precious information like where to get ice.

Then, the trolls came in, wicked, evil, hatefull spirits that just hate their lives and misery loves company. It's like a train wreck, you don't want to look but you can't help yourself. I was a very active participant at first but it got to be a constant battle of one upmanship, personal flaming and horrible insults. All on a forum that was sponsored by a local, reputable TV station. The main problem was that the forum was not policed and this behavior was allowed to go on and still does today.

Thier loss, they will wake up this morning hating their lives and look for a fight, every day. We come here and it's like going to a pond, seeing the beauty of life and hearing the good things, frog music and waterfalls. We all choose our path but I sure do like it here.
