just for fun, Feeding time

Just a few pics I took a couple days ago, the water has now greened up just a tad as it cycles after the big cleanout.  Poor Salsa (the big orange/black Koi) seemed to keep getting his food stolen by other fish, she's a push over.  you can see Lucky the little dropsy fish in the first picture, still doing good.

That last shot is a real winner - you ought to post it in some contest somewhere.

Lovely clear pond w/ beautiful fish  O0 Do you have to take all those rocks out when you clean? Or how do you clean it?

Karen one trick is lots of pics, and then pic the best ;D croping helps.  I use the action setting on the camera as the fish move pretty fast.  Also if you don't have a filter on your lens, time of day makes a big difference and if it's sunny or cloudy......I take hundreds of bad ones.

mcp.... I have a Fuji Finpix s3000  it takes great bright light outdoor pics, but not so great indoor, low-light pics.  I'm wanting to invest in a good slr digital, but not a real expensive one...possibly Canon, still researching.

No we do not remove all the rocks, just all the water and the fish, rinse it down very, very good and refill.....all day process.  This year we did remove the rocks from the bottom of the pond, it will make it easier to vacuum the pond on a regular basis.  The rocks are a lot more work, but we like how they look.  We removed all the rocks from our little upper pond in the rebuild and won't be putting them back in, also I don't have rocks in my lily pond except on the marginal shelf to hold in some of the plants that are not in pots.

To every one looking and comments thanks.....yes the water is nice and clear but that is only because they were taken a couple days after cleanout....the rocks now have a nice short layer of algae the fish are enjoying and the water has tinted just a bit green however still clear.....all part of the spring cycle.
