I would say they are cute! I never thought about keeping catfish before in a pond, but they sure look pretty friendly.   o(:-) o(

We have had catfish in our pond and really enjoyed them.
They grow fast.  Ours started eating our goldfish.
We caught them and put them in our farm pond.

They're so prehistoric-looking!

That's a lovely pond - very natural looking, and a nice size.

Do the catfish bother your lilies?

Oh man they started eating your goldfish??  how big were they when they started that

the cats dont really bother the lilies much- id say the most damage they do is they insist on swimming between the leaves or if when i feed them and the food is up under a pad or on top they show no mercy in being carely around the pads, and with tropicals being so thin padded you see a few nicks and tears here and there... definetly would advise against putting anything but an established plant in there. they like to lay in the pots so when they swim away anything not established or anchored down would be uprooted for sure.

they eat anything that will fit into their mouths...but, I love them...we had 2 for years untill they both passed away...one was around 9 years old and the other was 10 when they died....we had an albino still but, I decided to let a friend have him....I was running out of room for him since he grew from about 7" long to about 20" long in a matter of 3 years ....He had to promise me that he would never eat him  ;)....

Cool fish!  We have a farm pond full of them.  I love feeding them.  We really have some big ones.

Nice pond too!

I have a pond rescue in this part of Florida, Michelle, but that won't do you any good. Maybe put them on Craig's List or FreeCycle, making sure that whoever takes them has a much bigger pond than yours.

I had a channel cat but someone stole it out of the pond that it was in. It was 9" long.
Happy ponding,
