sad day... i shipped my first lilies today
« on: May 11, 2009, 08:24:33 PM »
Man. I sent my first lilies out today, they were good plants to me... one of them was a bagdad who was one of my first blooming tropicals this year as i find its amazingly cold tolerant... haha i was a little bummed to see him boxed up... took some amazingly huge wiffs of his super wonderfully smelly blooming flowers, took a deep breath, told myself and reassured him he'd be ok... snapped a few photos of him and i, (haha) and sent him on his way to his new home. I hope his new mom loves him just as much as i did lol.

and for those of you who send out lilies daily. shut up! lol. i bet you can remember your first good byes to some wonderful plants. haha. New moms keep me posted!
This is him, staring me straight in the face. angry that i'm sending him away. haha. tell me you cant see the anger!

not sure which will need dividing, some of last years new ones are probably to small yet.  I have quite a few I know will divide...finding the time will be the problem.  Here is a kind of list...I may have missed some, and didn't list this years new ones.
Attraction, more then one pot
Colorado
Pink Grapefruit
Chromatella, more then one pot
Almost Black
Souix  I think, it has never bloomed and it's 4yrs old
Charlene Strawn, but I think it's a wrong one, along with Virginia I question so niether I would sell as it.
Reflective Flame...another ? as I lost the tag, looks like it but I wouldn't swear or sell it as.
unknown...whites, pinks, yellows, more then one pot each
maybe....
Joey Tomeheck
Holliandia
Barbra Dobins
Cynthia Ann
I think the rest might be to small...
Mangkala Ubl
Perry's Double Yellow
Dallas

I remember the fist time I shipped a lily.  I didn't think I packed it correctly.  The paper was so wet, it weighed a whole lot more than the lily and box combined.  Oh well.

I had a Red Flare once, but it died before it ever bloomed.  The 3 you might like may not be ready to divide as I got them last year.  Mangkala Ubol fast became one of my favorites, it was a very good bloomer, large and lovely.  I just got Mayla this year, I've wanted it for 3 yrs.  I will let you know when I get to them if Barbara Dobbins, Cynthia Ann or Dallas will have a tuber large enough to send you a division, but I wouldn't count on it.  Make a wish list and post it, their are always people willing to trade, sell or just for shipping.
