BC, this cat is used to being outside and has been that way for years. You cannot expect to bring it inside for the first time in it's life and conform to a human's way of living. Some have done that and are lucky to have the cat adjust. Outside cats are night animals. It is their way. I am amazed that we humans are able to take any animal who was originally created to be wild and domesticate it to live in our homes that was constructed for humans. My current cat is 5 years old and born to a momma who was of a long line of inside only house cats. We got her when she was about 2 months old. She sleeps on our bed most of the night and never bothers us or Smokey in the night. We did have one that would take little kids toys like leggos and bowl with it in the night on the hardwood floor in the hallway. We eventually had to shut the door to the hallway to our bedroom so we could sleep.

First of all I thought anal glands that needed to be expressed belonged to canines, not felines, but I may be totally wrong here.  (AND I did some checking after posting this, and cats DO have glands that may need to be expressed.  If they are "scooting" they could be impacted.  A good reason for the cat to go to the vet)

I am wondering how old this cat is also.  Was there a litter box in the house and did you show her where it was and what it was for, or was she just supposed to know? 

How could any animal adjust in just a day to all of the new conditions she has been subjected to?  Is she spayed?  Does she have a UTI?  (urinary tract infection)  I would imagine, like Esther said, that she was trying to cover her poo any way she could--in the folds of a blanket. 

Actually, she may be better off with the jerk.  At least she's outside and she can run away.  I'm sorry I sound so harsh, but you didn't give her a chance.
